We have heard multiple times that filming the opposing coaches from a designated place on the sideline was legal -- true or untrue?

A cut to the game clock was at worst only a labor saving convenience, since cameras always have real time clocks superimposed so a recording of just the game clock gives you the mapping of real time to the game clock.

The only important Spy Gate claim was the unsubstantiated Tomase one that Bill was illegally filming the private pre-game practices of the Rams (and presumably other teams).

I recall much speculation that the harsh Spy Gate punishment was actually invoked to indirectly address widespread suspicion across the league that Bill was indeed guilty of illegally filming other teams' practices, a far more damaging accusation than that of the location of gametime sideline recording.
Every time I see the creepy, bug-eyed face of Tomashole I want to put my fist into it a few times. His lie took a relatively minor infraction from 2007 and turned it into a criticism of all that the Pats had accomplished back to the start of the dynasty.

We'll never know what would have happened after if the Pats went 19-0 but it would have been great to find out.

Randy Moss was indeed a bad mother ****er and I'd take him over Jerry Rice.
Sure, yeah, I will agree with that, but... Randy couldn't keep his head on straight. Can you imagine if you could combine the two? Randy's gifts with Jerry's ability to not self-sabotage? Wow.

I am amazed the guy was not run out of town. I refuse to click anything he writes and will not tune in to any broadcast, radio show, or podcast he's on. No sir.

This isn't happening without Kraft relationship with those you mentioned. He pursued it.

This is his documentary
Kraft asking Glazer to produce the docuseries does not equal Kraft producing it.

Glazer & Ron Howard own an independent production company with their own take on how and what would be produced. Did Kraft have an influence? Sure. But that doesn't mean the producers weren't able and willing to search for the truth, wherever that might lead.

I think it's pretty clear that Kraft's spin is all over The Dynasty. Sorry @venecol, but unless the tone of the show changes I'll have to disagree with you and go with @festy1986 on this one, especially if there's never any mention of Orchids of Asia or if they gloss over it.
Have you watched it? If so, what exactly wasn't portrayed accurately? Did you learn anything new from the interviews?

Because it's ultimately designed as entertainment and 99% of people want to get to the most topical points as soon as possible. People like us our in the minority and will actively seek out material on those teams. The average NFL fan thinks about the Patriots and thinks "Brady replacing Bledsoe, the Tuck Rule/Snow Game, beating the GSOT, Spygate, the 16-0 season with Moss and Brady breaking records and loss to the Giants, Brady's injury, struggling to get back to the title, the on to Cincinatti moment and the turnaround of that season to show Brady still had it, the Butler interception, Deflategate, 28-3, then the final run and the breakdown of Brady and Bill leading to his exit". Maybe you talk about the rise of Gronk in there to cover 2010 and 2011.

And that's a lot to cover in itself for the length of this series. And as much as it sucks, this was made for a wider audience and things we care about just aren't as important to what the target audience wants. Sometimes it's nice to step back and realize not everything is made for an audience of you.
Yeah I came to the realization that this really isn't for Patriots fans as much as it's for NFL fans who want to see what happened down the stretch. When you blow by 21 wins in a row and back to back super bowls to get to Spygate and the 07 Super Bowl it becomes pretty obvious.

Use your brain big dawg.

Kraft is distancing him self from Bill in this ****.

All I ever heard from Kraft was how Bill is the best ever and he would want no one else to coach the Patriots.

Now in 4 episodes I've heard him on no less than 3 times say Bill pissed him off with his on field decisions and even called him names for his supposed handling of spy gate.

As for producing. The whole thing was his pitch. I'm sure he had zero creative decisions and the whole documentary is completely unbiased. Right.

Glazer already had to field questions of editorial and journalist integrity BEFORE it was released because people were questioning the narrative of the documentary in pre press release tour.

The "Schmuck" comment - and that interaction between he and Bill over it - was already reported over a dozen years ago. So that wasn't Kraft using this new documentary platform to call him a name, he was just repeating a previous story he already told:

Well that's news to me but it's still.jarring to see Kraft go out of his way to lay all the bad stuff on Bill and for the the bad stuff that went right (benching Drew and keeping Tom) as rough decisions they paid Bill to do.

Basically I get the feeling that the Krafts and for some reason Jonathan more so, want the people to know just how much they're responsible for everything.

I personally never saw Jonathan as anything more than a mouth piece on game day but it's clear in the last couple years here he is inserting his control as Kraft makes his way towards a less hands on approach.

I'm gonna have to rewatch all this at some point for a proper analysis but off the rip it just feels off. Something about the Krafts rubbing me the wrong way.

My whole take on it really is that Bill isn't doing himself any favors on it, with his grumpy, non-NFL Films persona. He's so guarded as a result of being burned by Mangini. It reminds me of Richard Nixon and his paranoia. Bill's circle contracted, and no doubt the Dynasty will show this. NFL Films treats these guys like gods and Bill no doubt has a level of trust working with them that he 100% does not have in this project.

Yeah, some of this is just being regurgitated (that comment), while there have been some new revelations, at least in terms of his thoughts on Drew's situation. I remember hearing the stories about Drew supposedly flipping a chair during a meeting and some other things that leaked out, it was incredibly contentious.

Given how candid Drew's been, the fact some of those things (if they are indeed true) have been left out is a good thing. He's already skirting the line in terms of being portrayed as bitter, albeit those of us who followed him since his rookie season realize it had to obviously be hard for him. But he liked playing football, Brady loved it/lived it. That ended up being the difference.

Kraft also has a history of developing emotional bonds with some of the players, because I believe he genuinely cares. It's just tough when business/football decisions ultimately get in the way and give him credit for standing with Bill on that one. Obviously, it was the right decision.

They also made Bill look great in the 1st Super Bowl, how he unselfishly gave his room to Lawyer Milloy to emphasize how Bill was about the team. Let’s not act like this is all anti-Bill.

I think the other thing that sucks is that this would have been far better if it had been done after Bill had retired, rather than while he was still coaching there. He may have been more candid. I don't know when those interviews were shot but neither the 2022 or 2023 season went well, so neither would have been the ideal time for this.

That was really nice of Bill. Looked like he was thrilled to be talking about that story too.

I think Perry/Curran said June-July of 23.

The NY Post apparently had a preview of episode 6, which deals with Aaron Hernandez. Apparently in the upcoming episode Jonathan Kraft will state that Belichick was reluctant to release Hernandez after his arrest and preferred to wait out the legal process.

Now, I'm waiting to see the actual episode and the exact way Jonathan Kraft was phrasing this before rendering any opinion as I don't exactly trust the NY Post on anything, but it is interesting that Jonathan Kraft wants to have this out there.
