As I said in another thread, the key to this game will probably come down to Gronk vs. Ray Lewis because that is a match up that the Pats can exploit early and often. I saw them highlight Brent Celek vs. Lewis on ESPN and Celek burnt Lewis multiple times with seam routes and delayed routes over the middle. Celek finished the game with 8 catches for 157 yards mostly because Lewis just couldn't keep up with him. I like this match up a lot.
If the Pats can exploit this favorable match up, it will open up a bunch on offense. This Ravens' defense isn't what it used to be especially Lewis at least in coverage. Their biggest strength right now is turnovers (they have six in two games). Otherwise, their defense has been average. If the Pats can exploit their defense with high percentage passes, they could shock a lot of people by picking apart this defense. In fact, the Cards' defense the Pats faced may have been a better defense.
That said, this game is no cake walk. This is a game the Pats could easily lose. But I don't think their defense is nearly as fearsome as many people think it is. In fact, by the end of the year, we may realize the Pats have the better defense.
