Ras-I Dowling placed on Injured Reserve

I remember when we drafted him, so many of us were like "Huh, isn't he made of glass?" And then a gang of crows came in calling us Chicken Littles.

Crows, time to be cannibals. This kid is a bust.

Cut him fast, and spend all the picks we have on a secondary. Get a new D coordinator, secondary coach, and go from there.

Congratulations, you were right about something bad happening to your "favorite" team.

If Belichick had a .500 average on drafting / signing free agent dbacks instead of the .150 or .200 he has this team wouldn't be playing troy browns, julian edelmans, and street free agents every year in the secondary....and there'd likely be another Lombardi down in Jonathan City....

I just hope the team realizes the draft is not where we need to be getting CB talent anymore. It's time to spend on at least one in FA. We need some veterans in the back field.

Re: Ras-IR-Dowling officially on IR

Thing with Ras I is even when he was healthy he rarely played full games in college.

Huh?!? He led his team in Ints and pass defenses in 2008 and 2009. I seriously doubt he rarely played a full game during those years.

Just another 2nd round bust from BB.

Nothing to see here. Move along.

Why do you embarrass yourself with comments like this. Yeh our coaching sucks. He's horrible picking draft picks. Everyone else is better than him. That's why we've been at the bottom of the league for most of the last decade.

I love all those front runners who are now "through" with Dowling because he got hurt. These are the same mindless idiots who were "through" with Cunningham when he got hurt. "through" with Ridley when he lost one fumble. "through" with Vareen when he was hurt. And are now lining up to get their "through" cards for Lloyd in case he has a bad game on Sunday.

To them the guy leading the #1 offense in the league can't coach. The best coach in the NFL by far, suddenly doesn't know anything about defense OR developing assistent coaches We are suddenly in our own fanbase's eyes a sad sack organization that can't do anything right.

As each day goes along I begin to think more and more that we don't deserve the team we have. We are as spoiled and whiney as Jet fans are calling us.....and you, DI, are the leader of the pack. And what's really sad is that you are proud of the designation.

RIGHT! DI, is a coaching problem.

Ken - why bother getting upset, you have to realize that for what appears to be a majority of so called pats fans in this group these days:

To paraphrase Jim Mora and I aim this directly at the bandwagon idiots here in this group..........

"You don't know when it's good or bad. You really don't know, because you don't know what we're trying to do, you guys don't look at the films. You don't know what happened. You really don't know. You think you know, but you don't know. And you never will."

This sounds like what I'd like to say to PFF.

Re: Ras-IR-Dowling officially on IR

Gronk had one injury to my knowledge.

The other guy had several different injuries before entering the NFL.

What a ******* waste that 33rd pick has been so far.

He played 40 games in college, most of them as a starter, and he didn't miss any serious games until he was a Sr.

That's what people were saying about tight ends until Gronk and Hernandez showed up.

Face it. Dowling was a bad pick.

In comparison, Hightower went only 8 spots higher than Dowling did in this years draft and he was expected to be an immediate contributor and possible DROY candidate.

Was -I Bowling when they made this pick or what?...talk about a 7-10 split as a player...

Dowling started from day 1, injuries curtailed the rest of his rookie season.

they also benefited from a veteran presence. there is no real veteran in the secondary. Gregory I guess but meh.

You & Ken need to get your heads outta Bill's ass every once and awhile and face the fact:

Those of us who feared that Glas-IR Dowling was over-drafted by almost a full round have been
proven correct. Even Aaron Williams would've been a better value/risk-reward pick at 33.

And that Jim Mora quote was garbage then, and it's more garbage now.

Cut him now,not that it's his fault but the guy gets hurt way too often, why waste a roster spot into 2013?

This disappoints me greatly.

Now i will just look back at that draft and think what could have been with that 1sty pick in the 2nd round.... i was so disappointed when we didn't make that trade

he does, but with the pats luck, after they cut him, hed go to another team and be a pinnacle of health for years.

I wonder who the Pats add to the roster? They desperately need another DB...

And, no, Malcolm Williams really isn't an option since he's almost exclusively a special teamer.

Trade or a free agent sign...
