Player Signing RapSheet: Agholor to Pats

Good point. I was underwhelmed by the WR signings but you reminded me it would be worse if we wasted a high draft pick here. I feel like across the board we have overpaid for a lot of guys. Drew Rosenhaus is laughing his ass off. This reminds me of when you see a lot of high priced management consultants helping a company you know the internal leadership has no f'ing clue what they're doing
These are not overpayments considering what the cap is going to do in the next few years. Did you happen to catch the tv deals just announced?

So if you don't like every player or Coach on the team you aren't a fan?
You nailed it on the head right there. It is a personal thing between you and Bill. It is fine to criticize the bad things, but you don't ever compliment the good things. You add nothing to the forum by doing that day in and day out. I am not sure if you understand that or not. It is simply impossible to look at Bill's time here in New England and only find negative, it is your schtick so keep going, it is just a waste of everyone's time.

Someone who didn’t watch how he performed last season might say that. I’ll trust Belichick’s judgment over yours.
I mean, good for you? I don't remember saying my judgment was absolute? I even said he was better than everyone but Edelman. The **** do you want from me? In any case, unless he's learned how to not drop the ball on crucial downs, I'll believe it when I see it.

It is so funny that the same 4 or 5 posters come onto every thread and ***** about every single thing the Patriots do, wait here come Deus, TheRainMaker, NG, and Ven to post, I wonder what positive ray of sunshine they will add to today's forum. Almost forgot the good CPT!
The board needs some sane and rational people to counter the shills. What's really funny, but as in funny-strange rather than funny-amusing, is that the same shills continue to post the same garbage year after year, and have continued to do so even after last season, when they should have finally learned their lesson.

But Moosekill gonna Moosekill, right?

You still said he was awful which makes it clear you don’t know what you’re talking about. He had over 800 yards last season and corrected his drop issues he had in Philly.......breathe.

Yes sir!

Having one good season doesn't mean every season that follows will be good. He hasn't proven he's consistent yet. But, hey, like you just said, I apparently don't know what I'm talking about. I hope I'm wrong since he's on this team now.

Good point. How much will it go up for the Pats you think ?

Raiders used him differently though than the eagles did which was why his production jumped. So there's a difference between one big year vs just putting someone in a role where they can excel

Hes averaged 53 catches and 700yds a year the last 4 years.

He may be overpaid, but that is consistency.

It's pretty clear going by the timing and the value of the contract that the Pats obviously wanted Agholor. You can disagree with the move or potential of the player, but they clearly targeted him. Lazar opines that it could be a one year "try it" contract in the hopes they can extend him next year and spread out the guaranteed money. Either way it looks like an overpay right now.. but we probably won't know if it truly is until after this season.

I really hope we use him the way Vegas did last year.

Eh? The cap is the cap, it goes up the same amount for everybody. But it looks (from the projections I've seen) that in two years, none of these deals are going to be overpriced.

You are equating "supporting Bill" with "supporting Pats". You are wrong.

Considering the fact Bill Belichick has been the head coach and general manager of this team over the last 20 years, and during that span of time the team has appeared in 9 Super Bowls and won 6 of them (not to mention many additional AFCCG appearances and division titles), it would seem to me utterly absurd to not support Bill Belichick.

Does that mean he is immune from criticism? No.
Does that mean he is perfect, or hasn't made mistakes? No.

Does harshly criticizing virtually every decision he has made seem entirely unreasonable and ridiculous? Yes, absolutely.

Right. But we're not the Raiders or the Eagles, so there's no telling what we'll get.

It's technically not 700 yards, but I get it. It's close. That breakout season really helps. Otherwise, it's, like, 558. My biggest concern is the drops. Now we got people saying one season with the Raiders has magically fixed everything, but he still had his drops. If I'm reading the articles correctly, he went from 7 drops with the Eagles to about 5 with the Raiders.

Now, again, I'm rooting for him 'cause he's here now, but bracing for the drops. You don't understand. His stupid drops have literally won me money lol. That game he had against the Falcons back in 2019 was hilarious.

He will have drops here. Every WR has drops. JE11 had drops. There is no doubt about it. The question is how many and will they impact games.
