By my math, he is 4-16 over the past 2 seasons. QBR is a simple formula calculating TDs, INTs, yardage, and completion percentage. A QB can do nothing, rack up a few TDs in garbage time with easy throws when the game is out of hand, and look awesome. At the same time, he can lose every single game with an awesome QBR, which is not what you want of a QB.
The list is comprised of rookies, draft picks believed to work in a system (Osweiler and Siemian), and familiar QBs (Cutler). Yahoo is getting a little tedious with this line of stories, as they seem to ignore the basic fact that the throws he never made could easily explain the 4-16 record and there is nothing to suggest he could duplicate his rating in an unfamiliar system. But the articles keep on coming.
Personally, I think he's a below average passer. He's obviously a running threat so that helps justify his field time.CK is his own worst enemy. He listened to folks around him, got involved in a political shtick, and is now paying the price for it.
If he wants t know why he isn't signed to a team, all he needs to do is look in a mirror.
Kap divides and a QB cannot divide an NFL locker room. Additionally, a QB needs to carry out the FOs and coach's MO. Because of his steadfastness to March to his own agenda, that is also something Kap has against him.
Ultimately, players are employees, need to be marketable and are paid accordingly as such.
I'm assuming because there are fans who have a problem with his politics there players who also have a problem with it.I don't care all that much about Kaepernick, but nothing I read suggested a divided locker room. Divided fanbase, angry cops, whatever, sure. It may not be good business to sign Kaepernick (though I'll admit I don't understand why there's a special animus against him when half the league has kneeled), but it's not for locker room reasons.

I suspect the owners view Kap as the outspoken organizer who chose to put his politics ahead of the harmony of the team.
Explain.Tim Tebow says hello.
Wow, how dare teams not sign a radicalized prick.
Explain.
CK took a knee for a cause that is certainly not popular. TT spouted his Christian faith far and wide, refused to play any position other than QB and never worked to improve his miserable mechanics. Tebow put his faith ahead of everything else, including football and his team. Yet he got umpteenth chances to play, though he was nowhere near as good a QB as many others, and certainly not in CK’s class.
There is no comparison.
Tebow has been cut by numerous teams because he is just a ****ty QB. His faith has had nothing to do with his inability to stay in the NFL.

I agree completely. That’s not my point. In spite of his faith being broadcast everywhere, he got numerous chances, even though he was a ****ty QB, with nowhere near CK’s abilities. He had the right image, color and ideology for the NFL. CK doesn’t.
Yes and I firmly believe if the owners and FO folk thought Kap was the second coming of Tom Brady and would make them a 12 win team they would make room on their roster for him and the PR spin doctoring would be in full force.I don't necessarily agree with the politics of everyone I work with. I don't need to.
I suspect the owners view Kaepernick as a PR nightmare. I don't think the product on the field plays into their calculus one bit.
It’s totally ridiculous to use qb rating and consider it the sole judgment if a qb. It’s even more ridiculous to do it with a qb who led the worst (or 2nd worst) passing offense and scoring offense in the entire league.QB Rating
- COLIN KAEPERNICK 90.7*
- Jay Cutler 82.7
- Blake Bortles 81.8
- Mitchell Trubisky 78.2
- Mike Glennon 76.9
- Trevor Siemian 76.8
- Tom Savage 71.2
- Drew Stanton 68.9
- Brock Osweiler 65.5
- Brett Hundley 63.3
- DeShone Kizer 54.0
A crappy, older QB with experience is exactly what they don’t need. They need to try to develop a qb who might become good not their a slug in there who will never get better than the crappy play he put out there the last 2 years.I can not for the life of me figure out what Cleveland is doing,
Kizer is crap and at least kapernick would give them some experience at the position.
