Pundit mock drafts 2027 [with FAILs]

This would be a dream mock for me:

Unless Colin Simmons or Dylan Stewart are within reach, Jamari Johnson is as good as it gets.

3 safeties go in the 1st round in this mock: KJ Bolden, Ty Benefield, and Tae Johnson.

Jamari Johnson 1st round, Jelani McDonald 2nd, and an OL 3rd would be my dream right now.
This is my ‘problem’ with this class. My initial thought is yes I agree. But then I think “what about Will Echoles?” Or Ahmad Moten. Or Yhonzae Pierre. Charlie Becker?

Great problem to have at this point.

We won't get them all. We won't meet every need. But we should get some good players.

I would love our 1st pick to be true BPA. Right now my list would roughly look something like:

1a. Dylan Stewart, EDGE
1b. Colin Simmons, EDGE
3. Jeremiah Smith, WR
4. Leonard Moore, CB
5. Jamari Johnson, TE
6. Trevor Goosby, OL
7. Jordan Seaton, OL
8. David Stone, IDL
9. Cam Coleman, WR
10. Ellis Robinson IV, CB
11. Ahmad Moten, IDL
12. Will Echoles, IDL
13. Amauri Washington, IDL
14. KJ Bolden, S
15. Yhonzae Pierre, EDGE
16. Charlie Becker, WR
17. Nick Marsh, WR

The order is very crude, will probably get tweaked.

I'm also assuming 5 QBs are likely to go top 25.

I'd love to be in a position to just add top talent. BPA. IMO, you win SBs by having dominant units, not just by filling holes. Add any of those guys to our existing units, and you would produce a dominant unit that would put incredible pressure on opponents.

Thinking about this some more. Imagine, just for the sake of it:

1. A secondary with Christian Gonzalez and Leonard Moore or Ellis Robinson at CB.

2. An EDGE group with Dylan Stewart, Colin Simmons or Yhonzae Pierre to team with Gabe Jacas and Dre'Mont Jones.

3. A DL adding David Stone, Ahmad Moten, Will Echoles or A'Mauri Washington to Milt Williams, Christian Barmore and company.

4. A TE group of Jamari Johnson, Eli Raridon and Julian Hill.

5. An OL with Trevor Goosby/Jordan Seaton, Will Campbell, Jared Wilson, AVT and Caleb Lomu.

6. A WR room with AJ Brown, Jeremiah Smith/Cam Coleman/Charlie Becker/Nick Marsh, Romeo Doubs and Kyle Williams.

1. If Stewart and Simmons were 255lbs plus, I'd consider them above Smith and Moore but Stewart might not even top 240lbs (he's really lean). They're still prospects 3&4 for me but undersized edges can't really be considered a rare talent in the same way Smith and Moore are in my opinion.

2. No matter the potential of Goosby and Seaton, if we draft a LT in the first round...again, I will categorically become a Jets fan from that time on.

3. Stone v Echoles v Moten v Washington is going to be a very interesting battle to watch.

4. We'll see how things play out, but right now I'd take Becker over Johnson personally. Indiana were winning before Becker started playing but I feel like Becker transformed Indiana into a team that didn't just win, but won big. I get that you're a big fan of Johnson though, for good reason.

I'm not quibble over the order right now.

Gonzalez and Leonard Moore would be one of the best CB tandems in history.

I am also a big Becker fan.

Re #2, I guess you don't believe in BPA. I am not lobbying for OL in the 1st this year, but if Goosby or Seaton fall, they could easily be BPA.

My personal wish list:

1. Jamari Johnson, Yhonzae Pierre, or one of the 4 IDLs.

2. Best safety available, preferably 1 out of Jelani McDonald/Tae Johnson/Ty Benefield/Zach Lutmer/Koi Perich.

3. Best OL available, probably IOL conversion. Kade Pieper/Jacarrius Peak/Austin Siereveld/Carter Smith/Cayden Green/PJ Williams/Brendan Baker.

Add LB, CB, and TE.

NO TWIGS, d%#*!@t! [6'0", 182#]

24. New England Patriots: Ryan Coleman-Williams, WR, Alabama

Coleman-Williams' tape in 2025 looked nothing like what we all witnessed during his freshman season in '24. If he can return to that player, he'll have a chance to be a top-10 pick and battle Jeremiah Smith for WR1.
