@Kontradiction I'm thinking of going to Florida Wildcard Weekend. Can a person have an enjoyable 3-4 day holiday in Tampa Bay and/or the surrounding area?

It's a bit amusing to read a lot of these posts jonesing for a football game this Sunday in the name of entertainment and more important, money. The cavalier attitude over the emotional and mental effects on these players over what they witnessed happening to their brother is troubling. It's like we haven't learned anything about mental health in the last 10 years. Sure, these guys are trained to be tough, to play under constant pain, etc. but they were never trained to handle witnessing one of their own being brought back from death on the gridiron.

You had a stadium of 60k people in complete silence for almost an hour. Millions watching on the tube in shock. But none of us actually saw what was going on during those 8 to 15 minutes when the true heroes of the day were battling the Grim Reaper over Damar's life. There were only about 100 or so people that witnessed this. Most of them very young men used to playing video games.

I'm pretty sure that many of these young men are going through emotions they've never felt before, are in shock and probably suffering from ptsd. There's a reason the NFLPA said they are making all resources available to the players. Those resources are therapists or social workers trained to deal with these real life issues.

These two posts said some of the above much more eloquently so please re-read them.

I believe the game will be played this week, so you guys can relax & get back to b*tching and moaning on the GDT as the Bills spank the Pats in front of a national audience.

By this point everyone gets how strongly you feel, but enough with the strident virtue signaling and righteous finger-wagging. Everybody has their own frame of reference for this kind of thing without someone else presuming to dictate "proper moral conscience." While many share your sentiments others might not, which doesn't make theirs any less legitimate. Just cool your jets.

Absolutely. If you like beaches, or amusement parks, or fishing... boat charters, spend a few hours at the Dali museum, side trip to the Everglades. I am on the Atlantic side and prefer it, but the Gulf Coast has its appeal.

I never got this argument since like baby says, the 2 seed plays the 7 seed.

I generally get the sense that teams dont value higher seeds as much when a bye isn’t involved. Cincinnati last year is one example, they rested guys week 18 and took a lower seed because of it. Believe we did the same in 2005 during the flutie drop kick game.not that I think buffalo will rest people, but the necessity will be considerably lowered which is a good thing.

This would mean the Bills lose the bye IF the Chiefs beat the Raiders

If the Bills beat the Patriots, they host the Dolphins. If they lose, and Bengals won, they'd host the Ravens

@Jlaff all of this ^^^ but don't forget to visit the Mons.

Might actually be wiser to lose and take the Ravens.

Jonathan Jones was at practice?

These are the best scenarios to guarantee the Patriots make the playoffs:

1. Bills forfeit. This is the best outcome since it not only guarantees Pats make playoffs but they don't even have to play. We can then sit back and laugh at the Dolphins and Steelers for playing meaningless games. Bonus is that with new possible playoff schedule having NFC WC games next week, the Pats get Wk 19 off!!!! Team can rest for 3 weeks until Wk 20 when they're probably on to CIN, and we know how that'll go.

2. Bills play but if the BUF-CIN game is cancelled, they'll have nothing to play for + their players being distraught = easy win for Pats.

3. If BUF-CIN game is played on Wk 19, it really won't matter much since see italics above.

I think Pats chances of making playoffs went from 32% to 64%. I'm hoping for option 1 so that all the injured players get 3 weeks off to return at full strength where we 100% beat the Bengals. We probably travel to KC to face the Chiefs in the divisional round. Without Hill + our strong D, I see Pats having a 55% chance to win. The AFCCG will probably be in BUF where with the help of 45 mph gusts, Pats run it down their throats just like last season. SB vs Eagles will be fun. 50/50 chance to win it all. What a great season this will be. One for the ages: beat CIN, KC, BUF, PHI. Wow.

No way the Bills forfeit.

I'm hoping they do because it guarantees the playoffs, which is the only thing that matters.

It’ll be nice but yeah don’t see it happening.

The only part of your post that is funny is where you pretend you’re a Pats fan. If it was the Bucs playing the Bills next, I’d believe you.

He posts more on the main board than you do.

He's rarely on the Tompa forum so STFU

Just heard the same thing today on sports radio. Fecking Eagles and Chiefs would get 3 weeks off. Biggest advantage ever.

Also could make them very rusty though. We've seen a lot of times teams on a run come off a long rest and just cr@p the bed
