So you think Meyers will get 3 years at $5M to $6M a year, or 3 years at $15M to $18M per year? KB got 3 years at $5M a year.
My hunch is the 5 to 6M range.. to me he's more valuable to the patriots than anywhere else.. I don't see a team that's going to give him that huge pay day..

However coming from an undrafted FA to get a KB contract is a deal.. he has never gained more that 800 plus yards in a season.. now he'd definitely be over 1,000 hadn't he missed time..

It will be interesting to see what the 32 GMs think of Meyers. March 15th is the day for UFA deals I think. PatsFans commonly think too much of our own players. Meyers is productive but not dynamic, so I don't know what will happen.

Fair point, no argument there.. I've mentioned he may get the Edelman experience and find that he's valued more here.. sure handed guy... as BB said availability is the best ability... he and Mac have a connection at times it's been he an rham that moved the chains..

I don't know how much it'll be for Jakoby, but I'd be surprised if it's less than 12M AAV and it sure as hell won't be 5M. Still, gonna be interesting as predictions for his contract are all over the place.

That's why I said he may be suprised at his market. Teams will look at tape and his game and say nice player, not fast but crafty and gets open. However I don't think we should be paying 11 or 12 million for a system WR who never amassed more than 800 plus yards.

If he does and anything could happen that is only good news for players like KB and others across the league with similar statistics.

Just wanted to stand corrected on my last post. I was trying to say the patriots will likely try to offer Myers that type of contract of 5 or 6 million annually..

However the team for some reason doesn't always seem to offer players contracts like we think they should be given. However the market calls for 12.5 million for him.

No way the team's paying that to him!

12M won't be in Foxborough that's for sure.. I'm sure the team is elated that alghlors contract is over with, they still have a bad contract on the books with Jonnu Smith.. I'm rooting for Jakobi I hope he stays.

$5M to $6M is more than KB. $12.5M is 2.5x more than KB. Do the other 31 GMs think Meyers is that much better than KB?

Good question... I mean if and that's a big if.. KB is involved in the game plan as he should as he has a place in this offense.. if he can replicate his 2021 play then he could be looking for whatever Myers gets.. however this is just me speculating of course.... Myers has the benefit of being a free agent this offseason. If hr can get 12M from someone then kudos to him... that's unlikely to happen here..

KB is an UFA next season. Do you think the league will pay KB, as a FA, $12.5M a year in 2024? I don't think KB is that good, but I know you like him.

Agreed!! I understand the market and FA..

I think he's a good player, he's shown that.. not saying he's randy moss but he's definitely not N'Keal Harry or Chad Jackson.. you have to incorporate guys who work well within your system..

When he got opportunity last season he showed up.. all u can ask for..

I like them both too. KB's UFA deal was 3 years for $15M. Do you think Meyers will get the same offer 3/$15M?
This is the best point. Your market gives some clue of your value. Unless everyone in the NFL is wrong and a couple message boarders here are right, then Jakobi will earn 3x as much as Kendrick.

No one knows what any player will get until they actually get it.. everyone here makes valid points that's what it is all about a forum to discuss.. I enjoy the broad views and opinions it's very interesting..

As we've all seen how patriots view a home grown player as it always different from how the other teams tend to..

As they say pay attention to what people do not so much what they say.. so we'll see what the team offers him in contrast to what others will! Great discussion!

I don't live in New England. Believe it or not, Jakobi is being talked about as many contending team's #2, and the market for #2s is really high right now. We saw that last year, $10-$15m. A 3rd or 4th receiver these days get $5m, which is what Bourne got. Again, they could be wrong, but I think the market for these two players speaks volumes.

Wow thank you, that's great information. It's good to hear that from someone outside of New England. You right Myers market projects to be about 12.5 annually.. as Bourne got his deal 2 years ago in that FA market.. the thing is I'd really like the team to retain he and Jonathan jones.. both undrafted guys who worked hard and became good NFL players..

The WR market has changed in the last 2 years though.
KB is a UFA next year, in 2024. Do you think the market will pay him next year as much as Meyers gets this year? More than Meyers with the market rising every year? 2x less than Meyers? 3x less?

I think it's been longer than that. Remember, Algholor got $11m per the prior year, same year that Bourne got $5m. Kenny Golladay got $18m per, Corey Davis $12.5m, Curtis Samuel $12.5m, Will Fuller $11m, so the market had already jumped for #2s in the year that Bourne signed.

It all depends on the type of season he'll have . It's very hard to gage what a player will get next season... even if he remains a 700 to 800 yard WR for the entirety of his career they'll be a market for him... as such is for Myers currently.

I'm convinced had KB not been Matty p'd he'd have production.. I look at it like this.. he and Myers both have skill sets the patriots need to maximize.. I hope we keep Myers and add another WR threat and this offense can really soar.
