Restructures do NOT have the player giving anything back. All that happens is that his salary (above the minimum) is paid in a bonus upon signing instead of in monthly checks. NOTHING else needs to be changed.None of these guys have any incentive to give back money the Pats were willing to pay them unless they are danger of being released and make less on the open market.
Of course, the player and the team could negotiate new contract terms, but that is not a resteucture.
