Potential Coaching Candidates after BB Retires [Update: Bedard believes Monday's outcome could result in "serious question" about Belichick's Future]

If BB is here, Mac will be the starter in 2023 because BB cant demote such a high profile draft pick.
2023 is not only a key year for Mac but also for Belichick, especially depending on how these final five games finish. If he feels like a change needs to be made in terms of winning football games, that will trump all else.

There is middle ground where we can discuss any topic without going caustic. The forum's name is Pats Fans. Traditionally a fan cheers and boos their team. Booing is OK, but non-stop booing is not constructive.

If the Jets lose to Buffalo, and the Pats beat the Cardinals, we are in the playoffs. You would have no idea that is the case reading posts of the Fans on this Pats website.

Be honest, do you get the feeling the Pats might be a playoff team Monday night from reading PatsFans (fan postings on a Pats website?).
You would think they're 2-10 from reading the board.

It's also a dumb statement, when has BB ever been afraid to cut a high draft choice if he's not good, he's done it many times over the years. The saying was always it doesn't matter how you got here but what you do now that you're here that determines if you stay. These haters are getting ridiculous with their theories.

Exactly. The whole it's O.K. to make mistakes as long as you're willing to admit/correct them comes into play. He's cleaned house between Harry, Asiasi, Keene, etc. over the last year, among others, so it's a start. But what he does with his own staff this offseason is obviously going to be interesting to watch as well. Granted, still five games to go before we start focusing on that. ;)

Bill's succession plan for HC probably is; and I say this only half jokingly
Steven Belichick
Brian Belichick
Matt Patricia
Jerod Mayo

You forgot two:

Judge Joey, and Amanda.

I haven't seen BB sucks - get rid of him posts. Most fans here seem to be like me and are more concerned about Patricia and the offense.

But if we're going to talk about different HCs I'd like to see Mike Vrabel come back here. I also wouldn't mind giving Frank Reich a shot to see what he could do. Did he ever have a QB in Indy?

Ahh...errr...ummm...

The only winning team that was beat by this team is the Jets. Who BTW are very much in the playoffs at this juncture.

It only took a punt return for a TD to beat the Jets the last time. Before the BYE, despite Wilson throwing INTs in bunches the defense had to set Mac up on the 5 yard line for the Pat's lone TD. 5 FGs consisted of all other NE scoring.

NFL defenses will gladly give up FGs in lieu of TDs. You only dig a losers hole settling for FGs. But, you're happy with this QB.

I would rather let Belichick coach till he dies on the sideline than hire anyone who worked for him, we need a completely clean break from Belichick tree none of these guys are successful, Bill O'Brien destroyed the Houston Texans and he was the best of the lot.
I'd like to see Mike Vrable come back as Head Coach.

They're still not 2-10.

Winning teams always beat losing teams. Typical silly Triumph post. You should think about what you post instead of posting whatever pops into your head. If the Pats win tomorrow they are in the playoffs, and the JETE are not. But of course you have to go out of your way to note that the JETE "are very much in the playoffs at this juncture" while ragging on the Pats. Pathetic post. Embarrassing. Amazing how you go from lousy posts to even worse posts. Some people have no shame.

Teams with a winning record you dope.

Now, I’d prefer BB show an ounce of humility and own that his decisions over the last few years have been an abject disaster while totally retooling his coaching staff…
If a player had a disastrous couple years, Bill would have cut him before it got to that, regardless or previous success. Why should Kraft treat BB any different?

Read what you type before clicking Post Reply. The JETE's are in the playoff run? What are you thinking? Clearly not a Pats fan.

Take a break from sniffing glue and look at the current playoff format.

The Jets were a Wildcard before today and still remain a Wildcard at 7 - 6.
