This is where BB probably went off the rails. He had Jimmy waiting in the wings to continue the dynasty but Brady is an anomaly, he just kept on ticking past expiration date and BB’s well laid plans all fell apart. Something changed in Bill and he seems to be mailing it in ever since,Brady had a direct path to Kraft and went to BK to get Jimmy gone because Brady felt threatened. From my sources back in Mass, Jimmy was running his mouth that the Pats were his team. Supposedly Jimmy looked really good in camp and was ready to take on old man Brady.
BB did not want to trade Jimmy away. There was a quote by BB that basically stated "when your boss says trade a player you do it."
Pats reportedly offered Jimmy G $18M/year; Belichick 'furious,' 'demoralized' after trade
The Patriots coach was not thrilled about having to deal away his possible future franchise quarterbackwww.cbssports.com
You're an extremely generous grader.I count 13 head coaches in the NFL that I would give a plus grade. If that number roughly holds true season to season then the Patriots have a 40% chance of their next head coach being good.
Why do you like Eliot Wolf as the GM?

how do they even hit the ground that fast, lol?The tackle was on the ground...? And dropping deeper puts him back in the end zone, which also isn't ideal.

we're almost through year three of mediocrity post Brady, so we've got a head startWhen Bill leaves you should all resign yourselves to 20 years of mediocrity.

According to Albert Breer, Former Texans Head Coach Bill O'Brien is at the "top of the list" for the Patriots head coaching job whenever Bill Belichick decides to retire.
The Kraft family likes O'Brien's attitude and would relish at the opportunity to bring him onto the team to command Mac Jones and the offense, whether that be at playcaller next season, or head coach at some point in the future.
The news just keeps coming out of Kraft regarding the job that BB is doing. Over the offseason Kraft complained about the Pats drafts, bot enough regular season wins and the early post season exit. Youre not going to make coaching staff changes to BBs team unless that person has done something very wrong.
Bill Obrien is a hothead and would be Mac Jones worst nightmare.
If BB leaves he would have a new job by the end of day.
Youre not going demote a long time BB soldier in Patricia without consequences. Thats the point.
BB is all about loyalty to those loyal to him and if you break that bond like Mangini did its over forever.
To come out with quotes from Kraft about a new OC with 5 games to go is fighting words. Where would Patricia go? Not back to DC that I can see.
BB is building from the ground up and this situation is 180 degrees different from Kraft asking BB to trade Jimmy. Kraft got rid of Jimmy, dissed recent drafts by BB and voiced his displeasure with the lack of regular season and playoff wins. BB might just tell Kraft to GFY.
Why? Because we are not all holding hands and singing the same tune? This. I won’t be around here much longer at this rate.
In the eyes of patsgofor the Pats and BB never do anything wrong nor are you allowed to say any word of criticism even though you only need to watch the games to see there have been some bad decisions made by the gmWhy? Because we are not all holding hands and singing the same tune?
What's wrong with being critical of the team and even having very far fetched but also topical conversations like this?
I never noticed this cult like mentality of never being allowed to be critical of the team until Brady left.
Yes. But unlike his friend Saban in Alabama, who always insists on experienced, high-achieving offensive line coaching, Belichick really dropped the ball handing the duties to his friend Patricia who is undergoing a lot of on-the-job learning.Honestly, until they fix the offensive line, there's no coach who can fix what ails this current group.
Girls like exclamation marks.I'm ready Ian!!!!!!!!!!

I get the frustration, but at the same time, I don't know how Zappe fares any better when their tackles are playing like this:

They're on the ground a little over a second in, and then the quarterback gets buried barely two seconds into the play:

I will say for people who have harped on the defense, their issue is less about the defense playing elite offenses and more about the offensive line protecting against better defenses. They need to solidify those tackle spots in the worst way, which makes the Isaiah Wynn situation so frustrating because he was obviously supposed to be one of those guys they were building around. Now they'll essentially have to start again.
I still don't understand the switch. Both guys were serviceable last year, but as I mentioned and a couple other analysts pointed out, they had help from Henry and Smith, so I'm wondering if the goal was to free those guys up. Either way, obviously it didn't work out. But I'd be willing to bet Belichick probably didn't expect either Brown nor Wynn to struggle this badly. They needed at least one to play well and neither have.
Again, you're looking at the still. The amount of time before they were there (2.28 is when Jones let it go - so they were already almost there before that) was the issue.
You're not thinking about this rationally. He didn't have time to throw it.
The fastest guys in the league need a minimum of 2.43 to get the ball out:
