If a QB completes 1 pass in 2.0 seconds and the next throw in 3.0 seconds his average is 2.50.
Right up there with Joe Burrow.

If he lobbed the ball in the direction of the RB there is no grounding.OK, but you can count that time out on your own. If barely a second both of your tackles are on the ground and the one on the right is already in your face and coming to the same direction you think Mac can step into and complete, that's not exactly much time, is it? That's all I'm saying.
OK, Mac let it go at 2:28 as he was falling back and the guy was already there a split second before that. I feel like if I was defending Zappe with this same information, maybe you'd feel differently...?If a QB completes 1 pass in 2.0 seconds and the next throw in 3.0 seconds his average is 2.50.

Agree. The problem is the offense is in such a deficit two things can happen for Caley of he takes over as defacto OC.You would have thought. Part of me wondered if the idea was for Belichick to let Patricia take the heat while Caley learned on the job. I will say, watching some of those "Sights and Sounds" videos, Caley's been really active with the group on the sideline, which had me encouraged beyond this season. I just hope he's a guy who, if they do potentially go that route, they'll allow him to have input and fix a lot of the issues. Although, the overall belief among a fair amount of people is that he's gone after this season, which certainly won't help things.
There's a CB right there to potentially pick off that lob. Not only that, it was second and long, they needed some yards to get some breathing room and also have a shot at converting that third down. He had no chance. If he lobbed the ball in the direction of the RB there is no grounding.
Zappe gets rid of the ball faster at times.OK, Mac let it go at 2:28 as he was falling back and the guy was already there a split second before that. I feel like if I was defending Zappe with this same information, maybe you'd feel differently...?
Why cant you throw it right here? There's a CB right there to potentially pick off that lob. Not only that, it was second and long, they needed some yards to get some breathing room and also have a shot at converting that third down. He had no chance.
Because he's not facing that direction. Although, it's funny that you say that, because Mac looked at Henry on the first read. @venecol and I looked at this play a couple of days ago. Look at this thread here (I linked to the posts) and it shows the progression:Why cant you throw it right here?
Henry is curling back. Throw low and fast.
Maybe Zappe would have been worse. Maybe Zappe would have been better, but that creates a controversy.OK, Mac let it go at 2:28 as he was falling back and the guy was already there a split second before that. Not necessarily. A lot of it depends, I'm sure, on how things finish and how the two look next training camp. For all we know, Zappe could have a great offseason and come into camp a different player with one season under his belt. Having two good players at that position certainly isn't the worst thing. If Jones struggles again next season, maybe they don't pick up the fifth-year option and instead move him, so you never know.Maybe Zappe would have been worse. Maybe Zappe would have been better, but that creates a controversy.
BB proved to me that he is sticking with Jones no matter what.
Come on Dave, let's get on this train, we start this week!!!!! We can do it!!!!!!!!! I'm ready, are you? Let's go!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!4-1 is huge ask for this team. Cincinnati looks like a loss. And if Buffalo is still playing for something then we know what that looks like.
No, it speaks to my regard for the other coaches in the league. That doesn't say much for the condition you think Belichick will leave the team in.
Bedard has sources, in Foxboro and elsewhere. But he admits he’s speculating. He’s not the only one, though.
Ultimately, Bill probably comes back and willingly makes changes.
I count 13 head coaches in the NFL that I would give a plus grade. If that number roughly holds true season to season then the Patriots have a 40% chance of their next head coach being good. No, it speaks to my regard for the other coaches in the league.
How would you know that?I highly doubt that Bedard has any legit sources inside of the Patriots organization, no matter what he claims.
How would you know that?
Does Curran actually think the way BB acts in press conferences is the way he acts all the time? Especially around the one guy with the power to fire him?Tom Curran thinks BB could be on thin ice if they continue the 4th annual December slide and does his "shoulder shrug and grunt" when asked by Kraft what his plan is.
But why would anyone want BOB here after the sh*t he pulled in Houston?
It feels like this is on the coaching staff, since Henry played pretty well last year.I still don't understand the switch. Both guys were serviceable last year, but as I mentioned and a couple other analysts pointed out, they had help from Henry and Smith, so I'm wondering if the goal was to free those guys up. Either way, obviously it didn't work out. But I'd be willing to bet Belichick probably didn't expect either guy to struggle this badly. They needed at least one to play well and neither have.
I was talking about the tackles, but I agree. He's been great. It feels like this is on the coaching staff, since Henry played pretty well last year.
