Everyone in the studio said that. Makes up for that missed FG call. The ball is clearly hanging in mid-air, possessed by nobody, as it breaks the plane.
Football Zebras:
Patriots at Jets (video). Jets tight end Austin Seferian-Jenkins scored what appeared to be a clear touchdown. On review, not only was the touchdown reversed, the ball went to the Patriots on a touchback.
Seferian-Jenkins bobbles the ball at the 1-yard line and subsequently re-controls the ball. The bobble makes the ball a “loose ball” under the rules. Any loose ball (which includes passes) follow the catch process to establish possession. It may seem like an arbitrary designation, but this is a clear way to bookend loose ball calls by keeping all loose balls consistent, no matter how they occur. Seferian-Jenkins is going to the ground as he regains control of the ball, and lands out of bounds in the end zone. This takes the ball, still considered loose, out of bounds in the end zone, which is a touchback and loss of possession.
It seems like a very harsh call to go against the offense, but this is consistent with all other rules regarding the end zone. This has been reviewed by the Competition Committee in the past, and they have deferred on making changes to an offensive fumble out of the end zone being ruled touchback.
Quick calls: Week 6 | Football Zebras
"I don't care about the actual rules, or what actually happened so RABBLERABBLERABBLERABBLE"I dont give a flying f**k about any stupid breakdowns of the play, if you were a fan of any other team but the pats there is no chance you would think that was the right call..
Agreed. Would make for much more engaging and fun convo here to break things down more. Isn't dissection as fans what we're suppose to do on a message board? There's some atrocious tendencies on this defense that still haven't been fixed.
I get it, "a win is a win" - nobody argues otherwise. But man, there's no need to sugar-coat and constantly excuse the concerning play of the defense. Their play doesn't project well going forward against playoff caliber teams.
WTF were those calls? I've don't think I've ever seen that.
So they shouldn't make the call based upon what the rule is?I dont give a flying f**k about any stupid breakdowns of the play, if you were a fan of any other team but the pats there is no chance you would think that was the right call..

Then dez bryant also scored a touchdown against the packers in the playoffs a few years back. Blame the rulebook if you want to, i dont care who or what is at fault. That is an absolutely horrific call that bailed the pats outOne thing it 100% certainly was not is an incomplete pass.
Question the rule? Fair enough
Question whether there was sufficient evidence to overturn? Fair enough
Question whether it was a completion? You're out of your mind.
There's a difference between not liking a rule and disagreeing with a rule. You honestly sound like the morons who have been crying "fumble" about the tuck rule for the past 16 years.I dont give a flying f**k about any stupid breakdowns of the play, if you were a fan of any other team but the pats there is no chance you would think that was the right call..
This is disingenuous. Reasonable analysis and constructive criticism is never called chicken little here. Prediction (and certainty) of doom is.Agreed. Would make for much more engaging and fun convo here to break things down more. Isn't dissection as fans what we're suppose to do on a message board?
But instead.. if a fault is mentioned, even in a polite and harmless way, the response is often.. "OH MY GOD YOU CHICKEN LITTLE"... I guess some would rather just be Pom Pom shakers.
There's a happy medium of course between "End of the world" and "everything is perfect", but man..would think constructive criticism would be more accepted.

W-what?Then dez bryant also scored a touchdown against the packers in the playoffs a few years back.
AT WORST, thats an incomplete pass call. The fact that the pats got possession of the ball is just an utter embarrassment. Having said that, its an officiating issue, not a patriots issue
You would if you had the sense of a gnat which you clearly don't
Literally everyone outside of delusional pats nation thinks the tuck rule was a terrible call.. theres a reason they got rid of that ruleSo they shouldn't make the call based upon what the rule is?
I'm guessing you think the tuck rule was a bad call even though it was 100% correct.
Since I can't recall it ever being called besides recently against the Patriots I'll agree.I'd bet that defensive holding by DL goes uncalled even more often than offensive holding by OL.
The question is why this crew suddenly decided at that moment to start calling it.
One thing I guess we can say is that the Pats have largely (and barely) persevered in the crunch time situations. They've had to rally, play from behind and make last second stops. Hopefully these experiences benefits us down the road.
Laugh all you want.
Pats got robbed on several non-DPI calls today.
I will. The defense was crap. Getting bailed out by a terrible opposing offense doesn't change that.
And you're football savvy enough that you should know that.
