Post Game Thread Pats @Broncos - Mile High Win!

Announcers were surprised when Lewis started the game with the load of carries. I'll admit that I was too. I thought they were using him to get more passing game action. After looking at the stats, the coaching staff made the right call. Blount had one less carry but 60 less yds. Playcall and situation had a lot to do with that, but boy what a difference.

Yeah, it was speed and quicks over power in the run game today.

I didnt read the whole thread but a few observations.

1. Pats controlled this game, I never thought they would lose this game during the game itself
2. Wish our wr's would get rid of the dropsies
3. Thought they could have committed to the run more in the first half
4. Denvers defense is really good
5. McCourty ...wow ...I think one of the best game he had this year and the hit on Thomas was great..fair...legal and great
6. Never thought Talib would be the guy to try to calm Edleman and Ward down...good for him...also he is a really good cover man

edit: the O line was great!

Glad they won, good game, no obvious injuries, Denver is out of the playoffs ...maybe.

I think it's possible he thought Edelman caught the ball. His actions make no sense otherwise.

Doubtful since that db apparently flexed towards to the Pats sidelines after that play...

We are talking about Ward, right? That is just how he plays. Super aggressive (borderline dirty)? I don't think he cares if Edelman caught the ball, he just wanted to hit him and flex.
There wasn't anything remotely 'borderline' about it.

pats lucky denver didnt have CJ who ran for like 200 yds and 2 tds last game

And before you say gronk. well you had gronk last year.

good game. Denver will be better next year. They just have nothing on offense that threatens anyone.

Booker and Dorsett? Gimme a break, nobody is afraid of them.

How'd the St Louis Rams do today, Loser?

This is the kind of smart coaching/gameplanning decision that often gets overlooked.

But we aren't tied.
No, the point was that if we DO end up tied, Oakland holds the tiebreaker. Since there's only one game separating them, that's not out of the realm of possibility.

Most of the media missed it, this week. I don't know about Patsfans.com posters, as I didn't wander into a lot of threads this week.

You are 100% correct. I was more talking in general. I have felt he has been a dirty player for several years, but I am probably a biased Pats fan.

Anyone know the clinching scenario for #1 seed?
Winning both remaining games will do it.
And if KC can win the AFCW that would give NE the #1 even if NE loses out.

Basically, NE gets the #1 if:
  • KC wins the AFCW with any record (note, if KC and OAK tie KC wins the division) OR
  • NE finishes with an outright better record than OAK.
