Don't forget it is GA. Some of them have uncles for fathers.

Popcorn gangsters

Some early struggling to adjust to the speed of the Falcons defense

Penalties (Damn it, Gronk!)

Slow start
The first 2 drives had the pi noy called on the slant to cooks and the terrible call on Gronk.

Why is Ryan choking/choked last night? It suggests he should have done something against the Patriots that he has been otherwise doing consistently -- but didn't because of unforced personal errors.
As of week 7 ATL has lost to the Patriots, Bills and Phins. They scored 17 against the Bills and 17 against the Phins, and would have had 13 last night if the two FGs were converted. 3 straight performances all in the same general outcome vicinity.

As of right now the Falcons are what they are, a middling team that likely is a small step above the fray. They certainly have proved. so far(plenty of time for that to change), they are not close to the multifaceted powerhouse they were in 2016. And last night's story wasn't about choking whatsoever, it was about the better team as of week 7 (coaching down to ST players) earning a win.

Where are all of the traitors that said such things as we cannot win or better yet the Falcons would hang 50 on us? What rubbish!

He's right there in my sig and was at it all last week!!!!!

When the team was playing like **** (and by "team" I mostly mean "defense"), we had homers insisting they weren't. Did you call them out, too?

Is that my job??? Even when the team was playing bad, they did not give up 50.
This board is (and should be) generally Pro-Patriots. No?

so the big question, im sure not a lot of people are going to want to hear.

Is the defense starting to Gel, or is removing gilmore from the equation letting the regulars get back into a rhythm?
I have one word for you: meritocracy.

If Gilmore fits this defense best as a number 3 or 4 option, play him in that spot. I suspect his slow adjustment to the defensive scheme was the main reason for the overall struggles in the secondary. But all is not lost if Patricia makes sure that players who earn their roster spot get the start rather than dictating playing time according to contracts.

To speak to your original question, I don't believe removing Gilmore was the solution as much as the simple fact other players simply were better at this juncture. Gilmore can get it done if the coaches get him prepared and he finds a way to better prepare himself.

What.a.win

All around amazing effort. D missing 2 good CBs and almost shut out the Falcons...I did not see this coming.

The D has turned it around big time

Your job isn't to call out either side. You're not working here.

And this board is overwhelmingly pro-Patriots.

The local talk radio morons will use "the Falcons are a dumb team" as their talking point to not give the Pats credit.

One must admit, going for it on 4th and 6th at midfield with 2 minutes to go in the first half was Charlie Sheen-on-Meth level stupid.

The Falcons are 0-3 against the AFC East and 3-0 against everyone else! When do they play the Jets?

.....but, but, but Shank Shaughnessy says the AFC East is a bunch of tomato cans!!!

One word - Bademosi
The emergence of new talent alongside established players bodes well headed into the second half of the regular season. We've had some disappointments (Gilmore, M. Brown), but we're also seeing guys like Bademosi and Wise step up. This could be a top 5 defense if the pass rush is adequate and the secondary continues to gel.

Uhhh ok. Have a nice night.

Did ATL really run a jet sweep on 4th and goal from the 18-inch line without anyone in the backfield to force the defense to honor the possibility of a run up the gut? WTF??? Not that I'm complaining!

With how the Patriots played the Chiefs and Panthers, last years Falcons team would have hung 50-60 on us, easy. They were all-time great and this Patriots defense the first few weeks was all-time pathetic with pass coverage. Claiming otherwise is just homer-itis.

Ryan thought we had too many bigs in to cover the outside...he thunk wrong. He's the MVP...not Brady...wrap your head around that.
