Scoring 6 points in a half on the road against a solid defense in a division have isnt good, but it's far from incompetent. Especially when you scored enough points in the first half to win.

Getting 34 points dropped on you by one of the worst offenses in the league and a one-legged quarterback, that is incompetence

Brady, Gronk, Edelman, Gordon, White

6 points in a half.

But that is not a problem and at all partly at fault for losing the game by one point.

Your point being ? They get a pass for scoring only two field goals in 30 minutes because in the past this was enough to win games ?

If you break it down into individual plays, the Brady sack was bad but happens occassionally often in the NFL. Situationally, that final play happens roughly once in 50 years. It stands out as the worst play of the game, season, and era. I think people are so angry because it wasn’t like a weird bounce on a Hail Mary and wasn’t anything we haven’t seen before. The defense was epically embarrassed. It flipped the win probably roughly 100 full percentage points. Brady’s decision may have nudged it 10 percent. Game and situation do effect probabilities.

We just saw them give up tons of points to an incompetent offense in Tennessee and earlier against Jacksonville

The D sucks, no matter how incompetent the opponent is

The defense was as dominant in the second half as our offense was in the first half. I don't get how you can sit there and blame one unit for ****ting the bed when the other did the very same thing in spite of having considerably more talent.

You can't defend our defense today....they were bad, real bad.

Special team unit. Not offense.
I can't blame the ST unit at large, they blocked two punts and gave up no major returns. The kick and punt coverage was really good today, I thought.

The ST woes began and ended with Gost today, everyone else was great

Happens to every team in the league.

Quit acting like a spoiled baby about it. Patriots offense isn’t going to be perfect every half of football.

I am not acting like a spoiled baby. I am searching for reason in this circus.

The defense played as well in the second half as the offense did in the first half including both having major brainfarts that directly cost them points at the end of both halves. And, yet, some geniuses are blaming one unit but not the other despite a gulf in talent on both sides.

Well, no matter what happens, at least they can't take the snow plow win from us. :/

What hurts the most is that we will see this play forever. We’re never living this play down.

This team have completely lost the situational football smarts they had, its not something new, I have been noticing since last season, small mistakes here and there, today it cost us a game. That's on the coaching.

BB used to be a Master in situational football and today he went full Andy Reid.

I’m saying it happens. You expect them to drop 27 points every half and be flawless?? The offense made mistakes today, but still put up 33 points. That SHOULD be enough to win a football game.

How could you not place the blame on the defense for allowing a play that has not happened in NFL history?
Not to mention the composition of the Dolphins in general. Their offense is trash and their defense is solid. Giving up 34 and the longest walkoff play in almost 50 years is bad enough anyway, but having it done at the hands of a bad offense with a gimpy QB makes it even worse

The defense was epically embarrassed. It flipped the win probably roughly 100 full percentage points. Brady’s decision may have nudged it 10 percent. Game and situation do effect probabilities.

And if the Brady situation was how the game ended it would have moved the win probability by a 80%+.

2 more words:

Brady against THEIR D.

At arrowhead, with Eric Berry and Justin Houston healthy, Brady won't be able keep up with what Mahomes will hang on our defense. Hell, he couldn't keep up with Tennahill for crying out loud. Not saying this loss is on him, but unfortunately for him his own defense is utter garbage.

LMAO, you compare the Ravens' D to ours? Mahomes will hang a 60-burger on our D at arrowhead

And Brady will hang a 70- burger on their pathetic D. So what?

I would have kicked the FG, BUT it did cross my mind that maybe we should have gone for it on 4th down. It would have used 4 or 5 seconds, and they would have had to go 98 yards in one play, two max. There is almost no way they could get a play in FG range and still have a chance to set up the kick, unless they could get 50 yards down field and out of bounds. Whatever.
