No matter how much you think it's being overblown right now, Deflategate has become a very serious matter for Tom Brady. The League has already spent millions of dollars to discredit his integrity and reputation, and many are now calling for stern and strict punishment. If we take this all into account, and consider the reports that have come out recently, a suspension seems all but inevitable.

So if and when the axe falls, how do you think Brady will respond?

He'll appeal it, obviously. why isn't that one of the choices? He'll win his appeal, too.

Run down of review to date.

1) If Brady is penalized in a significant way
2) Arbitration will be asked for
3)If Goodell does not choose a neutral arbitrator and chooses himself, Pash etc...
4) Brady's lawyers and Union will bring the issues of bias and unfair labor practices to a court in Massachusetts
5) The court will find cause and order the NFL appoint a neutral arbitrator
6) Brady wins in neutral arbitration but by this point he may well have missed games. (he would get his back pay)

Possible but unlikely Brady sues for defamation as rational people tend to avoid court but it is not like he can't afford the effort.

This is what I see now

4) Brady's lawyers and Union will bring the issues of bias and unfair labor practices to a court in Massachusetts

I thought if Brady's lawyer's go to court it will be to the US District Court and in front of Federal Judge Doty? The Bountygate players and Peterson cases both went to him after their appeals were denied.

Not sure actually. The unfair labor practices could be different.

Although I do think that will also happen given the verdict that was just handed down in Missouri.

Brady's suspension would be appealed by the players' association, as is almost always the case in the case of major punishment players.

This would not represent any real action by Brady, just business as usual in cases like this.

If the appeal is denied, then the association will take the decision to court.

These are legal matters. The public statements won't have much detail. Some statement could help in rousing the public. Others will hurt, as was the case in the case with the statement by Yee.

No matter what happens, unless the league totally and fully exonerates him, Tom should sue the league and Roger Goodell personally for some number followed by a billion for character defamation and request punitive damages. The only settlement he should accept is Goodell's immediate removal as commissioner, payment by Goodell of a nine figure fine and TB installation as commissioner as soon as he retires
