EDIT: I don't think Tom should retire if he loses in Court....but I would not blame him if he did. I'm just curious how the rest of you feel

I have the utmost admiration for Tom Brady. He's earned every ounce of my respect. When most people would caved in to Goodell (see Kraft) he has chosen to fight on. He has gone the distance to prove his innocence. He has put aside the temptation to accept a reduced suspension, and he has made it clear that he will not accept anything less than zero games! That said, if things continue to play out as they have, then the Court may very well decide to rule in favor of the League. I'm sure the thought has crossed Brady's mind.

People in this forum, posters are being criticized for expecting the worst; but it's had to deny how badly things have been going. Aside from the results of Super Bowl (which were spectacular!) Deflate Gate has given us one nasty surprise after another. Even with the truth on his side, Brady has been screwed at almost every corner - and I don't know how much more he can take.

I don't know how much Brady will want to sacrifice for his integrity and honor, but I'm sure the thought of having to sit out any game makes him sick. And it's not just about playing football. The one thing Brady values more than football, is his family. His love for his children exceeds his love for the game. And if he doesn't fight for his innocence, then his sons are going to live with this for the rest of their lives. And it's not just his own children either. A whole generation of kids are being brought up to believe that Tom Brady is a cheater. Honor.....Family....and Legacy . That's what this is about for him.

So if it comes down to it, and if Brady is forced to accept a four-game suspension, should he make the ultimate decision to retire from the NFL?

Wow that's really lame.

One the legal case is over he should speak his mind, blast the NFL then go out starting Week 5 and kick everyone's ass.

The Patriots are not going 0-4 without Tom so worst case and this happens, oh what fun he could have and if by chance the Patriots manage to win it all it is the sweetest revenge in history.

If Brady was out the first four games, I could see us going 2-2 to start.

for some reason 2-2 starts usually make for excellent post seasons. add to that a really pissed of Brady and I think he'd be able to tear apart an all pro defense.

Sit out the suspension, win the Super Bowl, then take Roger to court for defamation of character

Jeffrey Kessler VS the NFL with no evidence of any wrongdoing, complete disregard for proper investigation, lies, and 10 CBA violations and solid evidence of a sting operation.

Yeah, dont think we have to worry about this.

This whole thing is an issue because some whiny teams are tired of being kicked around by Brady and Belichick. Why give them what they want? If anything, Brady should double down on playing for another 7 years just to spite them.

Brady has 4 rings and I'm pretty sure his competitive desire wants 5 or 6.

Hell no, he won't retire.

People respond to stress in different ways. Some respond by putting up nonsensical posts on Patsfan

I hope you're not referring to me, because I wasn't suggesting Tom should retire at all. I'm saying that he has good reasons to want to...It would be very hard for an innocent man to accept a 4-game suspension, especially with his pride at stake

The NFL is attacking Brady.
The French are attacking Gisele.
Together, they should just go buy a Caribbean nation, kick back, and reproduce gaggles of super-spawn that will return to the main land .....for......REVENGE!!!! Bwahaha BwahaHA!!

Lets put this into some perspective:

OJ's Kids - " Dad, did you really commit murder?"

Peterson's kids - "Why, did you whoop me with a stick?"

Rice's kids - " Dad, why did you knock mom out?"

Jerry Rice's kids - " Dad why are your hands so sticky?"

Brady's kids - " Did you really win 4 super bowls?" Oh and " Some kid at school named Bart Felger said you released 0.3 psi out of a football but don't worry I kicked his ass in the lunch room."

I hope you're not referring to me, because I wasn't suggesting Tom should retire at all. I'm saying that he has good reasons to want to...It would be very hard for an innocent man to accept a 4-game suspension, especially with his pride at stake

Just can this. It ruins the good things you've been doing.

Brady is not a quitter!

Did you make that sig dude? That's ****ing funny one of the best sigs this forum has ever seen. Voting for you into the Patsfan hall of fame for that alone if Ian makes one.
