Asking for your support

Should penalties/no calls be reviewable?

  • Yes! All calls should be reviewable at any given time.

  • Hell No!

  • Yes, but only for specific instances such as PI

Give coaches 1 challenge and the same 3 timeouts which can be taken away like now for bad challenges ... so add 1 free challenge to be used as they wish.

I’m really stunned you guys want everything reviewed.

If that happens, then enjoy a completely slowed up and watered down flow of games that becomes unwatchable.

Only the really big calls should be reviewable IMO. And there should be limited reviews of those calls as well.

I don't think anyone is advocating having every play reviewed. Just reviewable and limited to the number they currently get now with the same penalty of losing a timeout.

Give coaches 3 challenges per game.

IMO the pace of the game (for TV) is already absolute crap, that ship has sailed. I can't really watch without the DVR to skip ads and long-winded analysis. Since I'm in control of my pace, I personally don't mind if it gets messed up further.
One way the NFL got me watching more NFL content was by quickly releasing well edited game highlights on youtube. Now instead of checking box scores I am watching several 10-15 minute clips and seeing all of the pivotal plays each week.
I don't really have an overall point here, just adding my perspective on pace.

NO! Reviewing penalties will only slow down the game, tremendously. Remember once upon a time ago, they would review EVERY SINGLE QUESTIONABLE PLAY? (before they got rid of instant replay review, and then brought it back in the form of challenges) All it did was bring more frustrations.

What happened in New Orleans was unfortunate - but reviewing penalties as a solution will not get to the root of the cause, but will only be a band aide.

Belichick thinks they should be, so that's a pretty compelling case for it.

As for slowing down the game, just take a TV timeout during reviews. Problem solved, with zero disruption to the (already ****ed) pace of the game.

EVERYTHING should be reviewable.

And NOBODY is advocating giving coaches ADDITIONAL challenges; we are very simply permitting coaches to use the challenges their remaining available time-outs provide them in whatever form within a play event they deem worthy of review.

I really don't see what the confusion with the "but it will further delay the game!" crowd is all about.
