Think about your claim here. The Patriots requested credentials. They would have had this crew requesting credentials each and every week for the 9 hour movie, "The Life of an Advance Scout." And the entire NFL would already know about it.

I'm with Ian here: it really depends on what's on the tape. I expect there to be a major fine, but I only see BB getting suspended if there's anything that looks like taping signals.

Just someone who's been here long enough to know that the last time the Pat's did this the nfl was considering suspension for the year for bill and that since then lord Voldemort has pulled through on threats of year long suspensions for coaches who've openly disrespected his house.

cleared? Sorry...I must have been unclear...I'm saying he GOT the "statement" he put out there FROM the league office. I saw it as a clear signal that Park Avenue has already decided to make this a media circus and used Schefter as "trusted NFL insider" to declare wrongdoing on the part of the Patriots. BB and the team staff has ZERO toi do with this idiotic incident yet THEY WILL PAY THE PRICE. Article 46...have you all so soon forgotten?

I will say one big difference this time around, as Geoff Schwartz pointed out, is that signals are much less commonly used than they used to be. Unless there’s really deliberate stuff here, there isn’t as much to gain this time around.

Ironically, some of that may have to do with Spygate and the hysteria that ensued at the time.

I think if the tape is innocuous it gets destroyed by the league.

Goodell is writing his resignation if that happens. That was what led to a lot of the outrage last time and apparently played into the Deflategate reaction. He may not publicly release it, but he’ll keep it for any owners or team staff that questions his ruling this time.
