Pats trade for JC Jackson

If BB is the coach / GM next year then I don’t see both Jack and JC making the team. But if BB is gone…then I think both stick.

I keep trying. He keeps making it harder and harder.
Character was an issue in college Jones for sure. Some outgrow it, some never do.

Jackson seems like a guy who got his money and started feeling “special”.

I really wouldn't be surprised if him and Jack Jones aren't on the roster at the end of the season.
Miami absolutely Exposed them.

Whats going on with the continued hit pieces on JC Jackson? Who did he piss off?

this is like the 2nd or 3rd hit piece/article in the last few days... I get he's lost a step ir ten, but still, this is just piling on at this point...

Let's hope BB is not the GM next year: IF the Krafts keep him in that position he will fail the Patriots again.

JC didn't play up to his Mega Chargers contract win JC. BB realize that JC is not living up to 1.5Mill we are paying him.

Eh... We are paying him a pittance for the balance of the season... Chargers got screwed but honestly who really cares about the chargers... It's not like they have fans beyond the 20k who go to their games

I thought the timing of the article was a bit odd. I don't know why the leaked story about Telesco apologizing for bringing in Jackson would leak now and not a few weeks ago when he got cut. Maybe someone was sitting on the story until there was a bump in the road with Jackson which Sunday looked to be.

imo, the strengths of both Jones and Jackson are playing in your face, man to man coverage. they will gamble, and usually come out ahead at the end of the game.
against Washington, we saw the Pats mostly playing zone, with confusuion at the S position, (Mapu, Mills and Bryant).
imo, what we are seeing from Jackson and Jones is frustration with the coaching staff decsions with the game plans

My thing with these random beachings is when is this communicated to the players. Peppers and Phillips basically said they didn't know that Jackson and Jones wouldn't start so when does the coaching staff let the players know? Do they tell them during the week? Do they tell them the morning of? On the sidelines before the first defensive series? Obviously this is to a much lesser extent than the Butler Super Bowl benching but it seems like the anger/frustration from the players with these situations is that they may not have advanced warning.

what about Boutte? he has what the coach says is his best week of practice, and tells the media his name is being called this week. then he sits all game and watches Thornton run wrong routes and get benched, and watches Reagor drop perfectly thown pass.

The Boutte situation made no sense to me. Bill said he had his best week in practice and when Parker was inactive week one Boutte was active. Thronton also popped up on the injury list on Friday which made me think he was likely out again. The only thing I can think is that he made those comments to the media about "his number getting called" this week and Bill got pissy and benched him. Obviously none of us will know for sure but if that is the reason he didn't play Sunday then it is just another instance of Bill not doing what's best for the team.

Clear signs that the game has passed somebody by. There were signs!

Why should they tell them at all?

When do you want your boss telling all your coworkers that you’re being disciplined?

Safeties need to be able to adjust to whoever is playing CB. They don‘t get notification that someone is about to be injured, they just suck it up and play with whoever is on the field. They don’t get told someone is about to be taken out for a breather and some O2, they just adjust and play with whoever is on the field.

I don't know why people equate the real world to football. Would I like if a guy from a rival company decided to tackle me? No I wouldn't. The secondary needs to be as cohesive as possible. Not saying personnel decisions need to be run through other players but Peppers especially has taken a leadership role as of late so if a player in his meeting room is getting benched I would hope he would be told. Whether Peppers or Phillips were told isn't really the point. It is when were Jones and Jackson told? They seemed pretty emotional after the game and Jack Jones seemed upset on the sideline during the game. If these decisions were known in advance I don’t think these two would be as emotional about it. I don't really live anything about the situation. When they were benched Howell was marching up and down the field on us then they came in and the defense tightened up to some extent (still wasn't great). I don't love the way they handled themselves after the game either. This just seems like another self inflicted wound by the coaching staff.
