Meet roster player #90, WR Zach D'Orazio.

Mostly a wr in college

I remember when we were all supposed to be scared about the wildcat offense.

"STRENGTHS
Big for a slot receiver. Has unique ability to begin his run a split second before making the catch on short hitch and dig routes. Able to make first man miss after catch and gets straight upfield. Sniffs out open space against zone and shows above-average awareness of nearby defenders. Willing to work middle of the field and can make contested catches.
WEAKNESSES
Tape full of free releases and hot-read catches that he won't see at next level. Most of his production came on short throws and he had very limited success when venturing into intermediate and deep territory. Struggles to find separation against press coverage. Has limited catch radius. Struggles to catch anything thrown below his waist. Can't sink hips into breaks, leading to rounded routes.
DRAFT PROJECTION
Undrafted
BOTTOM LINE
Has great size working from the slot, but doesn't show enough speed or separation ability to inspire enough confidence that he will get selected on size alone. His hands look like they are NFL-ready until the tape reveals his noticeable struggles to secure the low throw. He's a possession receiver who can make some things happen against zone coverage, but he's limited beyond that.-Lance Zierlein"

Scouting reports say he is a slow slot guy. I don't even want to think about the injuries that would have to occur for him to make the roster.

Ran a 4.52 at his pro day, not exactly slow. But the odds of this guy making anything other than the practice squad are very low. Greg Salas is way better than this guy, and couldn't make a WR starved Pats team.

If you can't catch a low ball you will have a very hard time excelling in the slot with Brady as quarterback. Brady routinely throws the balls low so that only his receivers can catch the ball.

It's not so much that—since throwing the ball low tends to reduce the likelihood of YAC—as about protecting them. It's a lot harder to go headhunting when the WR is already headed toward the ground.
