Player Signing Pats sign CB Terrance Mitchell

I like this signing. This is a guy that can provide depth and maybe get slowjuan off the roster.

Because it's not bad enough with Jalen Mills constantly getting burned. We needed to sign another bad CB just cos he's cheap. Uggh. Our secondary could look really ugly next season!

This is our starting secondary summed up by the following article:
In total, New England’s current cornerback depth chart therefore looks as follows:

Outside cornerbacks: Jalen Mills, Terrance Mitchell, Joejuan Williams, Shaun Wade, Justin Bethel

I already feel the CRINGE coming. Mills on the outside makes me want to cry , Mitchell and Slowjuan are they gonna be anything more than speed bumps against the wide receivers they face?

or at least off the field
The sad thing is that Slowjuan is another FAILED BB defensive back pick in the 2nd round. And people think we'll easily replace JC Jackson? BB FAILS as often as he succeeds with CB picks. The only difference is he at least gets a few right once in a blue moon. With WR it's like BB is the blind squirrel trying to find a nut. Looks like the Pats will draft CB/LB high and just ignore offense this year. Mac Jones AIN'T getting HELP!

The good news is that he was pretty good 4 years ago. The bad news is that it's 4 years later.
Had a great 2017 but yeah…that’s a looong time ago.

Another scrub.... Sigh

EVERY team fails as much as they succeed, usually more than they succeed, not only at CB but at every position. That is the nature of the NFL draft, you simpleton.

6 Forced Fumbles combined the past two seasons. Not bad for a Cornerback
I think he is the one who punched the ball out of Harris' clutch at the goal line in Houston last year. BB must have been impressed.

Mills in 16 games allowed 37 catches on 65 targets (56.9%) for 406 yards
That is an excellent season for a corner.

My understanding is that they have high hopes for Wade this year...we'll see.....

I thought Mills was pretty good last year. He stepped into the number 2 cb role, which he wasn't expected to do, and played well.....

I fully expect the Pats to draft a cb high and sign another cb via free agency. Let's see what this position looks when we start the year. Still plenty of time before we play our first game.

Oh I was ok with Mills as the #2 CB behind Jackson. I think he will be fully exposed if placed at a #1 outside CB role. I've seen him burned too many times to trust him there.

Mills is someone you need to hide behind better talent. The CB depth chart right now looks awful. But yes there's still time until the season starts. But if this depth chart remains the same as what we are seeing today we are in BIG trouble! The new signing Terrance Mitchell is a 5th CB. Not someone to worry about, just another training camp body until he proves otherwise.

Just hoping we make significant moves soon because free agency is going very slowly for us. And last year's spending spree looks to be biting us in the butt. We had a couple of good hits in Judon and Henry but also a couple of expensive whiffs in Agholor and Jonnu Smith. And we have made zero moves to free up cap space although that's quite doable. Maybe BB should just hire our Miguel to crunch the cap numbers and the Patriots would be much better off.

In comparison not only did the Bucs get back Tom Brady. They moved swiftly to free up space and resign one of his favorite targets in Chris Godwin for a 3 year deal. Our cap maneuvers or lack thereof look weak in comparison.

Terrance Mitchell is a good signing in light of the re-acquisition of Malcolm Butler. Two veteran CBs to go with the depth at Safety looks good. My guess is that the Patriots get a CB in the draft in the 1st four picks.

The offensive line and the secondary have a similar feel - tested veterans who understand what is expected of them. This works in the context of a coaching turnover for 2022. This is a playoff team with a second-year QB and a group of skill players who were with him as a rookie. The key now is to shore up the linebacker group and DL with quality rookies.

Sure. The point is this is a fan forum. That's what fans do in every single team forum. Complaining about fans complaining is more of a waste of time than the original complaints.
But it gives us something else to complain about.
