I am not happy about a Thanksgiving Day game, but at least it is at night. There shouldn't be a problem with dinner interrupting it.

The one down side is I'm not sure a day of loading up on carbs, tryptophan and alcohol creates prime conditions for watching a night game. OTOH, it is the Jets, so that should pump in enough adrenalin. Gotta stink to be a player that having to wait all day to play though.

Everytime I see St louis on the schedule it takes me back to SB36, they were supposed to be the new dynasty but were never relevant since that night.

Monday night games stink.

They don't for people who live outside of the area and would otherwise have to go to a noisy bar and shell out money just to watch the greatest team on God's green earth perform.

And I'll be at the Jags game. :rocker:

I want to vent about how I'm sick of all the whining from mediots (and certain fans of certain other teams) about how easy the Patriots' schedule is. First of all, the forumla which determined our opponents this year was developed over a decade ago. Some are acting like it's a conspiracy to give the Pats easy opponents.

But also there's this: Of the 4 teams in the AFC East, our's is the toughest schedule if you take out games against each other. In other words, the only reason why our total SOS is easier than the Jets is because we play the Jets twice but they play us twice so that makes our schedule easier since they are a bad team and their schedule tougher since we are a good team! So if you compare the Jets SOS and our SOS and take out the games where we play each other, then their's is easier. Ditto the 'phins and Bills.

I know what you're saying, no need for them to whine, but it is what is. In this case, "it" is an easy schedule. The AFC is in a downturn. The Colts went from SB winners to laughingstock in only a few years. The Jets went all-in, had some success, but are now paying the price. The Ravens are good but very old on defense and their QB isn't good enough to carry them. San Diego fell apart etc...

The average fan outside of NE doesn't want to see the Patriots go 13-3 again.

If you hear or read about the last 5 teams with the easiest schedule (based on opponents records last season) missed the playoffs, bear in mind it was

2011- Cardinals
2010- Cardinals
2009- Bears
2008- Brady-less 11-5 Pats
2007- Cardinals

VERY Interesting, that's the last time the Pats played the NFC West. Coincidence? I think not

Directv would be the best investment you ever made.

Unless the Jaguars are a lot better than expected, I only see two games that set up dangerously:

@Ravens (Sept 23rd) after a trip west to Arizona
@Jets (Thanksgiving) on a short week

I'm not thrilled with the Jets game after Seattle, but that's at least a home game.
Arizona is a home game.

Tried it. The tech came out and said he couldn't do it because of the tree cover around my house.

you know you can watch every game streamed live online, right?

You can get Sunday Ticket streaming if you can't get DirectTV where you live (or at least that's the way it was, I may recall that they changed it so anyone is eligible, but not 100% sure). That said, not sure I'd want to shell out that kind of money, I'd probably just go to a bar every week if I lived outside the area.

Yeah, what he said. Getting really sick of all this crap about "how does a 13-3 team get such an easy schedule?"

I'm assuming you are talking about the illegal sites that stream games online?

The quality and reliability of those sites is abysmal, to the point of making the games unwatchable - and that's before taking into consideration all the ads that cover up the action that those sites throw on there every 90 seconds or so. On top of that the NFL has become much more proactive in defending their copyright protected product with the result being most of those sites being shut down. I've learned the hard way you can't depend on those sites to watch a game.

Your best bet is to buy a Slingbox. Give it to a relative or good friend that is a Pats fan that lives in New England and have them hook it up to their cable/dish box. Two bonus perks: first, no recurring monthly fee; just the one-time price of the Slingbox. Second perk is you get to watch the local (to New England) pre and post game shows too.

Who??????? i don't think even the stupidest fans on earth (read JETS fans) will think of something as dumb as this.

Go to virtually any national site, or any other site (newspaper, fan forum, etc.) that follows another team and you're practically guaranteed to find many people saying such things.

Much of it is actually fueled by out of town writers who bring up strength of schedule, leaving an open ended question such as 'how in the world do the Patriots once again have such an easy schedule?', and the readers and commenters take it from there. Those writers don't have to answer their own question; a subtle implication is all it takes.

Pointing out the obvious (good teams don't face themselves, therefore lowering their SoS while bad teams don't face themselves, therefore raising their SoS) would ruin the agenda of stirring the pot.

It's also quite telling that the writers will often mention the Patriots strength of schedule but omit the Packers SoS from their article.

I note that the Pats play the Florida teams, in Florida, late after it has cooled off. Playing them in September invites the debilitating heat and humidity. OTOH, the Dolphins visit Foxborough when it is plenty cold and snowy. Advantage Pats.

I see that they don't play the Jests until the 6th week and then on Thanksgiving. By the 6th week the Jesters should be totally disorganized and backbiting each other. By Thanksgiving they should have either already fired Wrecks; or he will be recieving rhw usual and customary "Votes of Confidence" from Woodenhead.

They also have a Bye after their London journey, providing them time to recover.

All in all, not a bad schedule.

The Patriots are playing a very easy schedule. Haggling over then inclusion of their own record isn't going to change that.

I'd be shocked if we don't get another 1st round bye.
