As excited as you can be for a scrap heap FA signing. Elite production at a young age & very good when in the slot in 2015 & 2016:

Jordan Matthews

He has a shot to be a 2015 Dion Lewis type FA steal & claim Amendola's role if he can stay healthy.

This reminds me of about 4-5 years ago when we brought had a “throw a bunch at the wall and see what sticks” approach to bringing in WR’s.

I like it, we should have a few of these guys rebound for us.

So.....

Edelman = Edelman
Hogan = Hogan
Dorsett = Cooks (?)
Matthews = Amendola
Patterson = Slater
Mitchell/Britt = Mitchell

???

Wow, I really like this signing. The WR group still looks pretty good even without Cooks or Dola:

Edelman/Hogan/Mitchell should be locks, and most likely Patterson too, with Dorsett/Matthews/Britt and the PS guys like McCarron/Hollister all trying to make it. Should be some really good competition for the last 1 or 2 WR roster spots.

Edelman/Hogan/Mitchell/Matthews/Patterson. Pretty sure Britt is gone by the end of camp. Dorsett could still make it but it's questionable.

I always liked Matthews, if he can stay healthy, he can make a difference. Looks like we are going big and fast instead of small and fast. Patterson 6’3 runs a 4.42, Matthews is 6’3” runs a 4.46, Britt is 6’3” (not sure what he runs).

At this point, I can’t see the Pats drafting a WR this year. Edelman, Hogan, Mitchell, Dorsett, Britt, Matthews. Add in practice squad receivers McCarron and Hollister fighting for a roster spot. Very deep at WR. Sure, some question marks injuries wise, but camp is gonna be so competitive at the WR spot. I want DaeSean Hamilton from Penn State, probably a perfect Edelman replacement in a few years. But I can’t see them drafting a WR.

Haven't seen any terms yet but if this is a prove it deal with minimal/no guarantees and the cap hit is as reasonable as it should be there's a lot to like here.
