Rob I thought we would have 30 pages and counting of Alec Pierce Patriots signing. Sue me for being disappointed.

My top priority this FA season was to get the best FA LG in the class. So I'm PISSED that the lowly Saints beat us to the punch on David Edwards. That signing would have solve a LOT of the issues we had late in the season on the OL.

Edwards was not the best LG in the Class.. He was mediocre.. McGovern is better than he is and Mcgovern re-signed with the Bills.

The LG class was not that great, over-all. Lots of middle-of-the-road guys..

On a short term deal, I'd look at Zeitler. Even though he's 36, he was excellent last year.. Doesn't fit the younger, part, but is certainly better.

Seems they are trying to position themselves to take BPA at 31. Which is really the best way to go at that spot. No clue who might fall. Allen, Sidiq, Freeling, hell maybe even a WR. I’ll **** myself if Love falls to 31 because the league decides (we don’t take RB’s in the first) again .

He's a lot more palatable at 20 mil than 30 mil. That's for sure.

Lmao, that's exactly what happens. I a look ways go into it with my binkies, but Belichick conditioned me to realize they weren't going to happen. Who knows, they could be trying to cut a deal with Hendrickson right now?

At some point you have to pay or overpay to get good players.

Last year they overpaid to get Milton Williams and it worked out. This year according to report the Patriots weren’t ready to overpay for Pierce which meant they didn’t really want the player.

We have a runner up MVP at QB on his rookie contract it’s the exact window year 3 and 4 where you spend and capitalize on it. Not when we are gonna pay Maye 70M/ year.

I wasn’t a Pierce guy but if I was I would have had no problem overpaying for him like I have no problem whatsoever trading a 1st for AJ Brown.

Yesh, he's a solid enough #2 but when Wooten can cover you man to man in the SB and you can't get much separation it is telling.

Boutte was constrained this year by playing the position in our offense that runs the routes to drag coverage rather than being a primary target.
One of the things about Pierce coming here would have been that he would be that guy (but be more effective and get more targets) and Boutte could have move to the z.

Another massive over-pay.. In 4 years, Mafe had seen his snaps dwindle each year to the point where he wasn't the starter anymore.

Chaisson's price tag just went up biggly.

Esp if it’s basically a 2 yr deal with a dummy 3rd year tacked on for cap. If healthy, dude is the best Edge on the street

I do expect more U kids finding their way to Foxboro in the next few years. Highsmith was around when all these kids came in for the most part.
