Patriots Redzone offense...oh boy...

You don't even seem to be intelligent enough to understand what I wrote. Your data is trash and means nothing. You won't even address the things I mentioned which means you also know it trash. Lol. Why are you ignoring the coaches I listed that went on to show they stunk? lol.
The discussion is FIRST YEAR of a new head coach. The argument was you can’t get better in one year and a 6 win improvement is unrealistic.
The data shows 41% of first year HCs taking over bad team improved 6+ genes

No, the discussion is turning around the franchise, not a flash in the pan for a year. Who really cares if Vrabel ads six wins this year by going 10-7, followed by a losing record the next few seasons just like many of the coaches you posted claiming evidence for a turn around. Its trash. Who cares that 41% of new coaches have 6+ wins. It means nothing if the franchise then flops just like many coaches and teams you cite.

You are wrong. The person I was responding to said 6 win improvement in the first year of a new coach is unreasonable.
My post was responding to that.

Perhaps you should read what you are responding to so you don’t look ignorant.

You are the definition of fake news. Go hang out with NEM and his crossing patterns.

Thanks for accepting that you are wrong without having the integrity to admit it.

I said back on page one I would reserve judgment until after camp and preseason when I saw the offensive line depth chart… but I thought we should take about today with the first day in full pads. So here we go…

First day in pads O-Line observations:

Line play was strong, on both sides of the ball. The offensive line was tested in one on ones, but that’s to be expected. The 1/1 drill favors defenders. The offensive line was burying defenders in the run game in team drills.

Strange (offseason award winner) singled out for a good day, he got beat once in ones by Milton… then came back to beat him handily, then made some notable blocks in team drills where it matters. Sow was said to have outright “tossed a defender” in one’s, then knocked defenders over in team drills. These are your two guards after Onwenu… I don’t think LG is as big an issue as advertised.

Campbell got worked by *Keion White in one’s but also gave as good as he got. That’s a tough one on one matchup. He then acquitted himself well in team drills.

The one question mark has been Moses slow start at RT, but I’m buoyed by reports of Demontrey Jacobs. I was near writing him off and annoyed because he clearly had talent… he just didn’t have the feet. If Doug Marrone can transform Jacobs into a workable tackle that would be amazing. The guy can play both sides, has good athleticism and is the widest guy we’ve had since Trent Brown.

Bradbury is the starter at center, but Jared Wilson is getting a crash course is backing up both center and guard. He needs to clean up the bobbled snaps with Maye, they both need to take the time to work on it… reports on his blocking have been stellar.

The defensive line also had wins and reporters had a hard time deciding who “won” the day. But in my estimation when you have great players on both sides of the ball, competition is high and it’s often hard to tell. Great players make plays, they also get beat by other great players. It’s camp, it’s practice… use practice to get better, but I like what I saw on day one of pads.

They have to run the ball well to be good on offense, it starts there.

Mike White?? That guy is one to watch this year. LMAO

Jumping from 30th all the way to 10th-15th like the OP is hoping for seems insanely aggressive based on the amount of talented we added. I feel very comfortably saying we seriously improved. Moses should be much better than the slop we had at RT last year. Whoever wins of Bradbury/Wilson should be an upgrade at center. Strange returning improves LG. Campbell, even if I'm not overly optimistic of how good he's going to be as a LT, should be better than Lowe and particularly as a run blocker which is very applicable to the red zone issue we're talking about here. Diggs as WR helps as well, as does Hollins as a blocker/target with size. McDaniels is a better playcaller and Maye should improve in year 2.

That being said, let's not overstate those improvements. Maye's leap can be small or huge. McDaniels is a way better playcaller than AVP. The rest of those I'd say are all marginal improvements except for maybe Diggs depending on his recovery. I don't think we added enough to go from amongst the worst in the league to the top 1/3 or 1/2 of it.

It all depends on how stubborn Skippy is. If his fancy complicated offense is not working, is he open to admitting that and making changes? It's getting really old watching film analysis of these plays and seeing how 38 things needs to go perfectly correct for the play to work. How about simplifying things just a bit in 2025?
