PATRIOTS TRAINING CAMP Patriots/Packers joint practice 8/17/23

Wish I were there. What a storied franchise! Two evenly matched, well coached teams with former head coaches running ST.

Going to be a little windy again today on Ray Nitschke Field for the Pats and Packers joint practice. 15 to 17 mph winds. J-Love has a cannon arm, so he can cut through the wind. I am a little concerned about rookie kicker Anders Carlson, who has been missing a bit this camp. Huge leg on Anders, but you would like to see more consistency.

Watching more of Firkser, and I've changed my TE3 prediction. I think he makes a lot of sense. He's stout, has good hands, and can serve as a HB / FB too. (Sokol could stick on the PS)
I still hope Gesicki heals quickly to start Wk. 1, but AF seems like one of those classic Patriot type guys that could find a role.

I hope not at the expense of Booty or Cunny

I hope to hear more about the defense today. With this, I hope it's Christian Gonzalez who snags an interception over Christian Watson... The crusades continue!

That Thornton trade with Green Bay so far Watson looks like the better player.

yesterday Bedard said typically Patriots struggle in Day 1 of joint practices and come back much better in day 2. let's hope that trend continues. by all accounts from practice and what we saw in preseason game #1, the offense is really bad.
I was troubled by Orlovsky's comments that he's hearing the Patriots will be a "ground and pound", or at least they want to be, offense...you need to throw to win, and throw past 5 yards, in 2023

Orlovsky is a clown who thinks Mahomes is the GOAT

imagine actually listening to analysis from a guy that once ran out of the back of the endzone when dropping back for a pass
He just talks a lot that he thinks he sounds smart but his takes never make sense. I guess I can give him credit when dissecting a play, but that's it

The power run game against nfl defenses that keep getting lighter can be a huge differentiator when we play teams. The real issue ( what I think you’re saying) is that in order for the power run game to be successful, you have to have a complimentary passing game that can take advantage of PA/8 man boxes. I love that style of offense. Watching as a defense just slowly wilts away all game along as powerful bully offense just toys with them. Difference is that on those teams you typically have all of the power and attitude coming from an aggressive offensive line. Now thats what Im worried about.

To be taken seriously, he should keep a helmet on.

What an eye opening revelation. Many of us over here at patsfans were up all night debating whether or not Love would start this game or the season finale. If only we could get a straight answer from this vague coach.
Sit down Pats fan. You just lost out on in practice video.

Still butthurt over the loss last season and the '97 Super Bowl I see.

Toodle-Loo!
