Patriots MUST lose their last 3 games

I hope the Cards win another so Bill can go out a winner against the JETE and it doesn’t hurt our draft position.
Arizona has a good chance of winning a game now that Kyler Murray is back. They are at Chicago this week, and finish at home against Seattle. The Seahawks may be eliminated by then, which makes that game tougher to predict.

But if the Cardinals lose out and the Pats do beat the Jets, New England probably drops to #4. Washington is at NYJ on Sunday, then home vs SF and Dallas. If they lose all three it appears at the moment that they would beat the Pats in the SOS tiebreaker for the #3 draft position.

In that scenario the question becomes this: would one of those top three (Chicago via Carolina, Arizona, Washington) want to (a) not draft a QB (Bears stick with Fields and/or Cardinals stick with Murray) - and (b) at the same time not trade down, and instead draft either WR Harrison, one of the OTs (Alt, Fashanu, Latham), or TE Bowers?

Pats at Denver may be New England's third most important game this week, behind Washington at Jete and Arizona at Chicago.

absolutely no good will come to team for winning any of these games.

If they want a chance at Daniels, Maye or Williams they must lose all 3

Unfortunately, I can see Bill going all out to beat the jets. If Rogers does not play, there is 0% chance the Jets win that game.

Is there anyone on this board thst actually wants the pats to win any of the last 3 ganes? If so, why?
No. I do not want them to win. Fortunately they will loose, in trying to win. I know the defensive guys want to play hard and win it for Bill out of respect for him. However this is already the patriots off season. These last 3 are nothing more than pre season games In my opinion. I just have this odd feeling that a top tier QB will come to us.. I don't know who... but some thing will transpire.

Unfortunately I don't see us losing to the jets. They haven't won against us in something crazy amount of games.

And Zach Wilson might be worse than our QBs
A poster on here says Mac was worse that Zach..

I think what will happen though is that if the Bears and Cards do not want to pick a QB then it’s either Harrison Jr or a trade back to a team that wants a QB. I don’t see Maye or Williams getting past 3.

My dream scenario is we are locked into the #1 pick regardless of what happens in week 18 then we beat the Jets. Slim chances of a week 18 win not hurting our draft position but a man can dream.

That's what I want as well, this would have to transpire:

Pats go 0-2 next two games (possible)
Cardinals go at least 1-2 (possible)
Commanders go at least 1-2 (possible)
Panthers go at least 2-1 and we win the tiebreaker (record very unlikely, tiebreaker 50/50)

Here’s how I see it playing out if we are at 2

1: Bears (via Panthers) - trade to either Washington or NY Jets who will select Caleb Williams

2. Patriots - Drake Maye

If we are at 3

1. Bears (via Panthers) - trade to either Washington or NY Jets who will select Caleb Williams

2. Arizona - this is tricky. They’ll get offers for the pick from a team that wants Maye. Say Jets or Washington (whoever didn’t trade for #1). Or the Cards keep the pick and go with Harrison jr.

3. Patriots - we pick whoever’s left between Maye and Harrison jr.

If we are at 4

We either need to trade up for the QB or we trade back (just a bit) for a team looking at tackle.

food for thought though, here are current top 3 picks starting in the NFL.

jared goff, baker mayfield, kyler murray ,bryce young, trevor lawrence, matt stafford, zach wilson, mitchell trubisky, joe burrow (although injured).

when you look at the list. kind of gives you abit of pause.
Agree with you. It is not sure thing with any of those 3 QBs. However, perhaps teh chances are greater when you have your pick of all the QB's coming out in the draft.
I do think that BB will go all out to win all 3 of these games and the Pats will probably be favored in the Jets game.
Worst case is we pick in the 4-6 range, in which case we should walk away with one of the top 2 OTs as a consolation prize.
Just looked at the standings and the Pats are still in the drivers seat to land any QB they want. Bears who own the Panthers pick and the Cards could keep both QB’s - more so with the Cardinals who screwed themselves with that terrible contract. Murray’s cap hit is $51M in 2024. Lol. Pats are picking 3rd as of today.

Bears are drafting a QB. They can trade Fields for a 2nd or 3rd round pick. They can get a possible generational player with the 1st pick.
Hoping the Pats pick #2 or #3 and take Daniels.
If not then go OT

The prompt "New England Patriots coach Bill Belichick holds the #1 draft pick while stomping on the New York Jets." didn't quite work but I like the result anyway!

Each slot in the first four is worth about the equivalent of a mid-second-round pick compared to the next pick. So drafting first vs fourth is like having three extra mid second-round picks.

OT isn't the play that high. The most fail proof player in the draft is MHJ who is a position of need. The most important positions would also be up for grabs in the top 3.

OL is important, but history has show that you can find gems all over the draft on that and one guy isn't a game changer on a unit like that the way a QB or WR can change a team dynamic.

IF the 2 best QB's and MHJ are gone, then I'd say trade down for some sort of haul and get an offensive line and have other ammunition the rest of the draft.

Yup. The biggest discrepancy in pick value is in those first few picks. If the Pats ended up with the number 1, you could trade down to 4 for a robbery if you didn't like the QB's.

Let’s root for Justin Fields to play well enough for the Bears to 2nd guess themselves and give him another shot by trying to build around him.

This sounds about right

OT, there was zero chance Rodgers was ever going to play after that injury, such a bizarre charade he was putting on

I see No chance, he is not good and they know it, they will draft a QB.
I somehow ended up watching quite a bit of the bears game Sunday, Fields made me laugh incredulously multiple times at his decisions. He is just bad. So bad.

I take it you don't like Fields?? I mixed when it comes on to him.

Man, if they did like fields and were right about it, they would be golden. Between the picks they got from Carolina last year and having the first and fifth picks this year? They'd be set for years

I'd love to see them beat the Bills again.
Why?
Because it would probably cost the Bills a chance at a playoff spot.
That would almost be worth dropping a spot in the draft.
