The receiver draft class was considered…strong.

That’s why we they drafted N’Keal Harry as WR1.
Post hoc ergo propter hoc much?

Of course there was strong mid round tackles to be had. My list begins with Carter Warren. Jaelyn Duncan. Dawand Jones.

Bill had a hard on for kicker Hanging Left Chad. He missed a 37-yarder yesterday. Folk is more accurate with a weaker leg. Folk will not go quiet in that good night.

I did like Warren and Duncan in the later rounds, so I would have been fine with one of those guys (probably over Jake Andrews; I liked the Mafi and Sow picks). It's probably worth waiting a few months to see how they shake out before we're too critical at this point, though.

The key to the offense clicking will be Tyquan Thornton’s continual development. Start hitting him deep, and the defense thins out with a safety deep. Keep it going, Tyquan!

Agreed, and I would add as well that if Mac can consistently recognize blitzes and hit his quick outlets, it will make teams a lot more hesitant to bring the house. Best way to help out an OL that isn't the best is to keep the defense on its back foot.

Reports were the wind was pretty crazy yesterday. Lazar said there was a kick from the Green Bay kicker that looked like it hit a wall and went straight down short of the sticks. I wouldn't make any snap judgments on Ryland from one practice. He's looked good in every other one.
Wasting your breath, he's already made up his mind.

Lazar talked about how the offense is really going back to death by a thousand papercuts, so I think that'll help a lot. But as he also pointed out, that offense only works if they're not having penalties and getting backed up.

They need to stay on schedule, no long yardage situations.

Nothing wrong with this reporting, and there's also nothing wrong with pointing out that the line will be better with Onwenu and Strange, and that the rookies will improve with each practice.
Onwenu will be an upgrade and help the line but people seem to be acting like Cole Strange is Logan Mankins. He was shaky last year and I don’t think he is going to really upgrade the line unless he makes a big leap from last season.

Definitely. And thankfully, outside of a few hiccups in the first joint practice, reports have been that those aspects seem MUCH crisper than they were in camp last year. They won't be perfect, but I'd be shocked if they weren't a drastically cleaner operation in 2023.

One of the things reported yesterday was that Ryland's kicks were so high, it was hard to tell if they were good or not. So he might need to work on his line drive kicks in windy conditions.

Hard to believe how short the goal-posts used to be back in olden times, for decades a mere 10 feet above the crossbar until they were raised 10 more feet in time for the 1967 season, then 10 feet again starting in 1974...

Dante said the T position was weak during the draft. He also didn’t like ANY of the tackles. He wasn’t alone.

How do we know your current choices are better than Sow? We’re only in preseason of year one for all of these guys.

Imagine missing a kick in TC.
