The IR-DTR should be set to at least Three Players and if a player can't go after their rehab they should not count against the designation. A Rule change in the off season to implement.

If a player "can't go after rehab" then the team wouldn't activate him. McClellan was ready to go after rehab, was brought back, and after a week or so of practice has an additional injury.

You are aware that McClellin had to pass a physical before the designation was used on him. Right?

What happened is the equivalent of him sustaining a concussion during the game and then going back to IR. If what you suggest goes through we might as well completely do away with IR-DTR designations and just make it a rule that anyone who goes on IR has to stay there for 6-8 weeks but anyone can come back.

RJF is a run-stuffer who was brought in to help shore up the interior DL while Brown is out. Freeney wouldn't have helped as much with that.
