Patriots get the last laugh if there is no season

He went 13-3 and made the CCG with Carson Palmer as his QB.

That’s a helluva lot more success than anything Belichick has had as an HC without Brady.

Did you see the rest of that roster? Absolutely stacked. Arians' down years are more telling than his good ones. As soon as things begin to go wrong he blamed his players and took 0 responsibility. He's the definition of a coach who wins and loses according to the talent he has to work with.

Also, Carson Palmer was not that bad some years. He was just grossly inconsistent and always hurt. You can't compare a former MVP, multiple Pro Bowler to Matt Cassel.

Godwin and Evans are absolute Beasts. 2019 NFL WIDE RECEIVER RATINGS | Football Outsiders Best in the NFL despite playing with James Winston.

Brady gave up in 2019 with an actual worse WR/TE corp than in 2018 which was bottom of the barrel. This 2020 NE WR/TE group is one of the worst in the NFL.

If Brady gave up mid way through 2019, then I lost a lot of respect for him...

No reason? Seems funny for a Pats fan to say this.
I can cheer for a team w/o believing its ex QB is so amazing at 43 that he can change the entire fortunes of a franchise that has one good season since disco was en vogue.

Well if that’s the case, then he’s in for a fantastic season this year.

BTW, who are the coaches who *don’t* win and lose according to the talent around them? You show me a great NFL coach and I’ll show you a coach who had some great players playing for him.

He didn’t give up. He lost AB, he lost Gordon and Edelman was badly injured - not to mention the schedule was certainly back loaded.

When you consider the piss poor talent around him, 4,000+ yards with 24/8 TD/INT was a fantastic season.

Love hearing fans of this team trashing Belichick for his record in Cleveland almost 30 years ago as if it means anything today. They probably weren’t following what he was doing with them. And even if it was justified, why should I think he isn’t a much better coach today than he was then.

And those same fans get wound up when other fans call Brady a system QB based on his early career as a game manager QB. Go figure.

The talent around him was not that much worse than his early years...and his numbers the second half of 2019 definitely declined. I think he'll definitely do well in TB, but I don't think it's fair to blame his 2019 season all on the WR corps.

Covid is a nightmare. So were WWs & the recent mass shooting in my province.

I think people predicting Tampa success are getting caught up in the wave of excitement. There is nothing in their past, nor in Arians’ past that suggests they are going to succeed (unless you consider a wild card loss “a success”).

Craziness on top of craziness.

I wonder if unprecedented lockdown craziness is causing cracks in the fragile under layers.

You think Tampa is going to succeed. I don’t. Can’t see how « thinking the biggest losing franchise in the history of the League is going to lose is so crazy. »

He set in motion the front office, picks, and personnel of the Ravens who’ve had more success that most teams. Was he also the last coach to take CLE to the playoffs ?

China has been playing baseball this month without fans. That bodes well for our pro teams getting back on the field later this summer.

You watched Tom for 20 seasons and can find no reason to think Tampa could win the division. I find that silly. Maybe you think the Saints will still take it fair enough but to say no reason is silly.

Clearly, many posters have more confidence in Brady’s ability to turn things around than I do.

It sounds like the people who think the Patriots can lose the guy who is far and away the greatest quarterback of all time and continue to contend.

Never said NE is going to win lots of games. I am saying I think Tampa is not going to be nearly as good as many here believe.

Or even a shortened one.

If there is a full one with Brady and Gronk tearing it up, man what a nightmare

I'm looking forward to Brady and Gronk tearing it up, personally. At least it means I can still watch them kick ass, even if it's not in Patriots uniforms. Those guys have given enough to the organization that I'm more inclined to be happy for them that they're in the situation they want to be in than be bitter or even all that bummed out that they're not here.

I'd rather they be in New England, obviously, but having them reunite in Tampa is better than having them both retired IMO.

Well its the fact that they won 7 games so not complete losers like some other teams .

Brady and gronk together are more than sum of their parts. Its synergistic to add both those guys IMO.
