Re: Next week vs the Jets...MUST WIN

2 weeks ago you wouldn't shut up about how the Jets suck, now NE has no chance of winning Sunday? Interesting ..

Very interesting isn't it?

43 years ago,Rat fan wouldn't shut up about how the Pats suck, NOW NE has no chance of winning Sunday?Interesting....

Re: Next week vs the Jets...MUST WIN

this exactly how the jets came to foxborough. back to back losses with a potential win at NE erasing those losses. now pats find themselves in the same situation.

Re: Next week vs the Jets...MUST WIN

I hope the Patriots beat those loud mouthed Jets.

Re: Next week vs the Jets...MUST WIN

Not a chance

Come back here after the game on sunday night. I just have a funny feeling that the pats will rise to the challenge. I'm also glad the pats aren't the favorites right now. I also love the media bashing our defense. I remember how everyone ripped the colts with their 32nd ranked run defense heading into the 2006 playoffs.I'm hoping for the same thing to happen with the pats this season. I just want us in the big dance in January. I don't care about if it's as division winners or as a wildcard!

Re: Next week vs the Jets...MUST WIN

Thinking about it..i won't even be mad if they lose...because i expect it. It's nice expecting a loss because if they surprise us..it makes it that much better

Re: Next week vs the Jets...MUST WIN

People are forgetting, Mark Sanchez is still their QB. I fully expect the Jets defense to shut the offense down, but I don't see Sanchez doing much. If Big Ben and Eli (far superior to Dirty Sanchez) could only put up 24/25 on our pathetic D, I don't see Sanchez doing much damage.

I fully expect a grind them out, 20-17 type game on either side.

Their D is going to jam the receivers...that's when brady gets flustered and makes mistakes...that's the blueprint right now...so the D is going to have to step up big (LOL at that out myself)

Sanchez is mediocre but he has talented receivers and is up against the worse pass defense in the league. Brady is running a one dimensional offense with no big play threats against a defense that can shut down his receivers.

I'll be here

Re: Next week vs the Jets...MUST WIN

It's not a must win. It is a game that if you win you put yourself back in the drivers seat to win the division. Lots of teams have made the playoffs at 5-4. Lots of 6-3 teams have imploded and not made the playoffs.

Does anybody remember the last time the Patriots lost 3 in a row? It was 2000 by far the longest streak of any current team. They lost 4 in a row that year, actually they did it twice.

Lots of other streaks have fallen this year so if this one does so be it. It goes to show how spoiled this fan base has become. I don't mind the criticism where's warranted and I've certainly question a lot that's gone down this year. What I mind is the whiny sky is falling attitude. You would think this team was Detroit circa 2008 when they hadn't won in 50+ years and were on the way to being win-less.

I hope the streak of losing two in a row at the Jets is the steak that gets broken. Tom Brady has never lost three in a row. I hope that streak continues.

Either way the following Monday I'll be rooting them on and hoping the beat the Chiefs.

Re: Next week vs the Jets...MUST WIN

Actually, Brady lost 4 in a row in 2002 (after starting 3-0.)

Re: Next week vs the Jets...MUST WIN

The Saints won by 55 and then a week later lost by ten to a previously winless team. The 0-7 Dolphins went on the road and blew out a team that had won four in a row yesterday, holding them to a field goal.

The fact that so many people here are assuming that this next game will absolutely, positively be a loss is a ridiculous and short sighted overreaction.

As for this next game being a 'must win', please. Obviously a loss makes winning the division more difficult, but I guarantee I can go back to each and every NFL season in our lifetimes and find some team(s) that overcame a one-game deficit with seven games remaining to be played.

Yep, that was the last time the Pats lost three in a row, another streak that is potentially in jeopardy next week.

Then we wouldn't care, just like you and all the 'disciplined' fans. A poor man doesn't go nuts if one day he can't find food, its just part of life for him, take away a rich mans food for a day and that's another story.

If you want to do that type of analogy, then consider that on the other hand a self-made well to do person who grew up poor would react to a little bit of adversity much more favorably than the person born into wealth that grew up with a silver spoon in his mouth.
