We're really going to miss Hollins today, and if we move on. Hollins was built for games like this, so super unfortunate thing because we're so young and inexperienced at WR. Not to mention small. I like Boutte, but he's at best going to be limited in full speed with a potential re-injury of his hammy. Someone is going to have to step up huge. It may actually have to be Chism - who is the most physical and best contested catch guy left - of Pop, KW, Webb
Hollins is an integral part. Of what we do
But we are going to need to continue to lean on the running game to open up the offense and dicticate what we want to do.

The running game has allowed us to be balanced and make it difficult for defenses to try to attack us. We will need this today and going forward.

Point I'm making is the weather was still the same.. We can't think the weather will aid us.. we need to use that embarrassment last season as added motivation IMOm
Of course. Question: what was the wind chill in the game? Did it feel like 18 degrees? Or was it simple 30 something degrees?

If this comes down to Josh McD, I like NE. In December, I felt good about the OC. And I’ve seen him operate in huge games.

This is the perfect game to test this team. We're about as healthy as a team could hope to be going into the playoffs, we've won 12 of the last 13 games, and we're playing at home.

If the team can't beat an injury riddled, 7th seeded team with a QB that has never won a playoff game, they're not good enough and it's a moot point to discuss what could have happened in the upcoming rounds.

I expect the opposite to happen, a start similar to the one against the Bills, without the second half letdown.

Pats 31-Chargers 14
You should go add that prediction to the Alamo thread

Mayo, AVP, no line, etc etc
Correct on all fronts.. Just saying as far as the weather goes.. saw some in the media talking about the weather.. it's not going to help us.. playing smart and soundly is what is going to help.. and furthermore I hope Vrabel has that game plastered all over the meeting rooms.. especially for the defense..

Of course. Question: what was the wind chill in the game? Did it feel like 18 degrees? Or was it simple 30 something degrees?
From my recollection it was similar to today a bit breezy. It was a Saturday afternoon game from what I remember. One of those games where it felt like it was already over at kickoff. Some other things of note on 98.5 archand was saying the other day of how an ESPN analyst was saying the chargers felt content with thier Match up against us.. thus sitting Herbert for a game against Denver in wich they could have improved thier seeding had they won..

We’re all aware of the Chargers’ historically horrific OL woes, but this illustrates just how dreadful it has been this year for those who haven’t seen any Charger games. If we can’t pressure Herbert, we deserve to lose; flat out.

the point is that the weather didn't matter
I didn’t post the weather insinuating that the weather was a determining factor. It was posted to inform people of the conditions of tonight’s game. Nowhere did I say “The Chargers are screwed because it’s 30 degrees outside..”

I'm not confident, I'm hopeful. But I could easily see a loss tonight if 2 things happen:
1. DL can't pressure Herbert enough and limit the 3rd down runs/conversions
2. Maye and/or offense commits more than 1 turnover
A loss here would suck. You never want to be the 14-3 team that gets bounced in the first round. I won’t be mad with a loss but it would be a disappointing end to a great season

We need to also be aware of over pursuing, allowing Herbert to escape the pocket and scrambling. He’s been pretty effective at it this season. More so due to the pocket collapsing at an even higher rate.
