Flu shots don’t protect against getting the flu. Just decreases the strength of the disease - reduces potential for hospitalization etc.
Is it your suggestion that preventing severe cases of flu shouldn't be a goal of our medical team?

"If a model rolls in Special Teams to the Defense, is a crap model."

Sorry, I didn't mean to confuse you. They don't roll in special teams into the defense, but they do account for the situations that both the offense and special teams place the defense into. Rushing yards and TDs are built into the model.

I'm on record that I believe that the Patriots will win, so I won't respond to the rest of your post.
So, it's a completely arbitrary model

Thanks.

Couldn't help but notice you conveniently didn't respond at all about the 2 offenses.
The gap between them is large.
The gap between the defenses is not large
Advantage Patriots

Not only that, but he ignored what was pointed out to him in regards to the Chargers Run Defense and how the Pats have fared against Zone coverage.

Both Munford and Lowe DNP today. That’s seemingly a little thin.
Thursday practice isn't a sign as to whether or not a player will go or not. Friday has been the telltale for Vrabel.

As we saw, Lowe was a full participant on Friday. As were Bradbury, Jennings and Moses.
Munford, on the other hand, was DNP and is questionable, though my guess is that he'll be out.

I expect Spillane to be back and starting. It will be interesting to see if it's Gibben or Elliss starting next to him.

Landry being questionable is somewhat troubling.

I really hope the Pats leave Ben Brown at LG. I think he's shown better than Wilson has.

Do think this is a game in which our LB's are going to have there hands full with 3 quality tight ends as well as trying to contain the edges with a running QB but, as mentioned, think our defensive line can take advantage of the Charger's injury ridden, inept OL. I see Hampton has been banged up as well so I am really not too worried about there running game especially with Milton and Spillane back. Do not believe we have dominant D (need better edge rushers, more Turnovers) but do think we can hold them to the 20-24 point range.

Offensively, believe we will have success because of the running game which includes Maye. I do respect the Charger's defense, especially pass defense, so see a 27-21 Patriots type score.

Regardless, has been a phenomenal, wildly exciting year with a great looking future so trying to tell myself that but am sure will still be pissed if we lose!

Despite having those TEs, which I've mentioned, San Diego hasn't used them effectively. Outside the loss to Indy, Gadsden hasn't been much of a factor. Conklin was a non-factor in 7 of the 13 games he dressed for... Dissly missed most of the season. The games he did play in, he was good for 1 or 2 catches with a high of 28 yards..

Do I worry about them, yes. I've said as much. Whether or not they'll be a factor is a different story. they haven't been much of one for most of the season.

Can the chargers D replicate what the bills did in the 2nd half in the 2nd game where maye couldnt get anything going ? They certainly might have the players for it. That could be the key .
You mean the 2nd half where the Refs were made themselves the Point of emphasis instead of the players?

Can’t say I’m a fan of US CDC any more, not since their big boss started adjusting science to suit his personal beliefs.

I believe facts are facts. There are not different facts in China and Europe.

Interesting that the study eliciting your comment about Wuhan has no authors from China. Prejudiced much?

Hard to interpret because there’s nothing I saw explaining how they define “effectiveness”, and left a lot of my other question about methodology unanswered, but the text seems to answer my question about whether the vaccines prevented influenza infections, or merely reduced severity of symptoms. Very first sentence reads “Preliminary data … indicate that the seasonal vaccines available in EU are providing protection against influenza A(H3N2) infection”.

Thanks!

Umm.. No one is adjusting facts to suit personal beliefs. It's the opposite. The CDC has been working hand in hand with Big Pharma in lying to the US Citizens about what is and isn't safe. They've been doing it for decades.

But that is WAY off topic and I'm going to leave it at that.

My slightly embarrassing typo aside, my point still stands:

1. You said: "And there's no question Pats D > Bolts D with Williams", and weren't able to back up your claims with anything other than stand alone stats that lacked the necessary contextual elements needed to deal with the small sample size issues inherent in a 17 game NFL season.
2. You questioned the fandom of folks who dared to have an opposing opinion to yours; basically: if you don't agree with me then there is something wrong with you. You must be a peach in political forums.
3. I'm not saying that advanced stats are perfect, but they are more predictive than stand alone stat
4. I believe that the Patriots will win because their offensive advantage is greater than their slight defensive advantage.
5. Patriots 27 Chargers 23.
6. If you disagree with me it's okay. I'll find away to get over it.
Ok

That franchise screwed its fans for decades with one of the worst cement stadiums in the nation, then picked up and left after 60+ years of loyalty.

**** that franchise and the horse they rode on on.
I lived just outside of San Diego for a while in the 80's(Pacific Beach). Those were the days of Air Coryell.
Chargers fans were very loyal and always filled that crappy stadium even in the lean years. Sound familiar?
Also, just like Bostonians like me, San Diegans always hated LA and everything related to it. They deserved much better.
Same with Cleveland and scumbag Modell and Baltimore and scumbag Irsay.
He's got his flaws but thank God for Kraft keeping this team where it belongs.

Yes Gregory is another addition doing well and improving recently.
Another thing here to mention.. was listening to some talk on ESPN leading up to this game.. analyst points out how by LAC sitting Herbert was a sign of how they view the match up against the patiots.... he also pointed out how he knows thet Vrabel is using that and the 40-7 blow out last season for added fuel..

I believe this team is hungry and wants some redemption for that beat down last year.

APF, nobody thinks Maye is a “sissy” scared of bad weather! We’ve noticed that his throws tend to sail high in the rain.

That said, he’s the kind of player who acknowledges his mistakes and works hard to correct them. This game should be an interesting test.
He's started a few games this year when his first couple of throws sailed, he corrects the problem quickly in game.

Sunday will mark the final day of the first year of the Mike Vrabel era.

Happy New Year!

I am wondering if tomorrow starts the Pats D playing on another level. We have seen it before, defenses that once the playoffs start turn into something that hadn't been seen. I mean you have Vrabel as the HC can't see his defense not being semi dominant in the playoffs.
