And this is unreasonable, why...? If the employee in question made a sincere effort to find a ride/transportation, but could not, and the cause of her transportation issue was out of her hands, I struggle to see why this would be something to criticize her for. If this was something she knew was going to occur and still accepted the job, sure, that shows a lack of foresight and/or responsibility. But unless you're intimately aware of the details surrounding her inability to find a ride, I don't see how you can be justified in criticizing her.
Why is a midnight text problematic? It's a particular form of communication, it does not demand your immediate attention (much like an email) and you can read and respond whenever you please. It's a noninvasive form of communication.
As far as the Craigslist ad, what is wrong with asking about other types of work? Isn't this the type of initiative and 'stop at no costs to find employment' mentality that millennials are so often accused of not having?
If you attempted to communicate with someone and they did not respond, would this be an inappropriate response? Perhaps he thought he had the wrong number. Perhaps he wondered if you had forgotten to respond. Although it's none of my business, I would be curious as to why you thought they were an "idiot" in the first place.
I know very few people who graduate from a four-year university with a bachelor's degree and are seeking a job at Starbucks, or any business that pays by the hour, no less $15 an hour. Generally the people seeking those jobs are those without a college degree.
