Patriots beat writer Losing hope on Kayshon Boutte?

Haha, I read it as the Patriots losing hope, not a writer.

FWIW Violin is the most hopeless writer covering the team.
Yeah, we all know how quick the team is to lose hope after a few OTAs and a couple of mandatory minicamp sessions, and then to plaster that loss of hope in media headlines. It’s clearly Bill‘s loquacious habits spilling the beans yet again.

This is completely misleading. The headline is Patriots Losing Hope on Boutte, when the truth it was a staff writer who said they were losing hope in Boutte. There is a big difference.

That being said why is all the current Patriots news all bad?
Aaron Rodgers rejected us.
Boutte is lazy
Jack Jones is fill in the blank
Hopkins talking to Titans while In our stadium, will take his time.
Trent Brown is out of shape and overweight.
James Robinson isn’t healed from major injury and cut.

I mean come on let’s get some positive news:
Wouldn’t be surprised Kraft pushes to sign Hopkins to change the narrative.

You must be new around here.

Kevin Faulk needs to get in his fellow Tiger’s ear and learn him some wisdom about what it takes.
And a little history lesson of how useless the outside noise is. Faulk could have stayed under his covers instead of the multiple early years of hard work in spite of fan/media doubt.

Yes, definitely. Sometimes more than not it's the mental aspect and the acclimation to the NFL that players need to get caught up on as thier talent got them to the league, but the other aspects will be what can help them become the player they want to become. We have a pretty good WR group and I just need to see Mac have his full compliment to make judgments.

If Hopkins signs here, then yes we do.

Even without Hopkins we have a solid group of guys that all can and have made plays for the team. Hopkins takes us to another level of course. Until he signs I'm tempering my emotions and focusing on the guys that are here. Mac and the offense needs to be at or near full strength in camp to get the most accurate account of any type of progress made.

Yeah, everything else in the post is blatantly obvious. Of course it is "less than ideal" if he missed some of the practices. What does it matter that a writer is losing hope?
The PFW guys have said everyone should temper their expectations for him after seeing him (and not seeing him) out at practice. None of them said to put a nail in the coffin on his career by any means but they were all pretty high on him after the draft and said they haven't really seen anything yet.

Let's allow Keyshon Boutte time to practice in camp before we throw him overboard.
Can't remember a year in wich I just wanted camp to start already.. I just want actual football news.. I want to see Mac and the offense at full strength against the defense.

Another reason why it is preferable for Hopkins to sign here no later than the beginning of TC: his signing here by then would allow the team to place a PUP designation on Booty; and, depending on injuries to the position, keep him on PUP to begin the regular season... He might still need more time for his Achilles' to heal, and his head to get straight; might as well have him accomplish those missions in a less stressful environment.

If Boutte doesn't seem ready, I would want him to have a camp and then go on IR.
