Giant fingers, a smart phone and damn cold weather are a terrible mix for typos.

Charlie Weiss stated on Comcast a week or 2 ago he would like to coach again but it would have to be a perfect situation.

I wonder if a QB coaching spot here is that perfect situation?

So, with the DC and OC leaving, and people getting poached, who's left in the current system?

Perry just published an article about just that:

Which coaches will slide in as Belichick's top assistants?

He thinks it will be OShea/Flores as everyone expects. The open question really is Schiano's role in all of it. If Flores goes from LB coach to DC it would actually open up the LB position which is exactly what Robb Smith (the guy from the Gophers who supposedly will join Schiano at the Pats) has been in charge of at the College level.

Most interesting random tidbits:

Dante Scarnecchia will be 70 later this month. He told NBC Sports Boston that he could envision himself coaching next season, but he would not commit to 2018. Should he depart, coaching assistant Cole Popovich would be among the favorites to replace Scarnecchia.

It has been widely reported that Joe Judge could join Josh McDaniels in Indianapolis, but if he does not, he'd be expected to return to his role running the kicking game for the Patriots. His official title in 2017 was special teams coach. Perhaps, if he has an offer elsewhere and the Patriots want to keep him in-house, he could be named special teams coordinator.

I suppose if Judge leaves the job should go to Ventrone. Someone pointed out that Steve Belichick might go from safeties coach to do some ST stuff. This would also make sense in terms of career trajectory for him. So safety coach might be open soon.

Similarly with Schuplinski going with Josh to Indy we will need a new QB coach. Similarly with OShea moving up it means the WR coach is open as well. It is entirely possible that Nick Caley who has been running the TEs will just jump into one of those positions but then his job becomes available.

Finally, there are also rumors that Ivan Fears might retire so the RB coach position might also become vacant.
