I hope your right,I just see the ravens as the pats kryptonite, not worried about denver

Yep, only if we lose the last 2.

and really if we lose the next two finishing the season 0-3 we dont deserve the playoffs. We are not the jets we dont get to back into the playoffs.

This year could really boil down to a bunch of ****ty last second calls by the refs.

I would say I wholeheartedly agree, if the pats can't sweep geno smith, tannehill, and EJ, they have no business in the playoffs, but those damn injuries really opened the door for miami

The one seed is gone, lets get that out of our minds. I could easily see the Ravens winning out but something tells me one of Dobson/Thompkins is ready next week and Bill has the team ready to play. Coupled with the change from 8:20 to 4:15 (huge atmosphere difference), it could be a classic Pats statement win (or a complete disaster, but that's another story).

Meanwhile, there is no way Miami wins at Buffalo next week. Southern teams going up to Buffalo at this time of the year is always a disaster for the visitors and I could see an ugly win for the Bills (think 26-12 or something like that).

While we could definitely miss the playoffs (have you watched the defense the last three weeks?), its highly unlikely and I think we luck into a two seed or worst case, a three seed with a rematch with Miami/Baltimore.

The most intriguing matchup I see is Baltimore-Cincy in Week 17. We have seen two instances of this in recent past, with the Bengals-Jets in 2010 and Packers-Vikings in 2012. In both instances, one team desperately needed the win to make the playoffs and the other did not as they were already division champs. Both situations IIRC had the teams playing two straight weeks which could be the same case for the Bengals and Ravens (3 vs 6 seed then, tough decision for Marv Lewis).

First, I don't expect Baltimore to win tomorrow night. Megatron is going to torch that secondary. It's going to be ugly.

A Cincy loss and a Balt loss are possible. If Baltimore loses tomorrow night, that makes next week a lot more winnable (I believe they'll be eliminated).

But thanks to a few of you for reminding me how stupid this board can get after a loss.

Maybe Denver rests Manning and a couple guys on offense for the 2nd half of that game vs Oakland, and Oakland puts up some big points over the shaky Denver D. They put up 31 today against KC. There's a small chance a Raiders win can happen

I hope they keep all the starters in and try to eclipse the TD and yardage record by throwing it 60 times. Mannings arm I bet is slowly deteriorating in strength each week.

For those wondering, if the Patriots can still get a #2 seed with a loss at Batlimore, here's a still somewhat realistic scenario can be the #2 seed.

1. Patriots win vs Bills
2. Bengals lose vs Ravens (or less likely, vs Vikings)
3. Colts lose @ Chiefs (or less likely, vs Jaguars)

NE could play the Ravens or Dolphins again in just a few weeks in the # 3 slot.

I think that Denver wins out and wont jeopardize losing the # 1 seed by sitting players. Plus, Manning can pad the TD record.

Bengals have NOT Lost @ Home Yet they have Two Home Games left *odds are in thier favor*. I think for us to get #2 Seed we Must WIN OUT! Lose to Ravens we Don't deserve #2 Seed let's see what this Team is made of.

What happens if we end up at in a 3 way tie with Cincy and Indy at 11-5? I don't believe Head to Head applies in that scenario. I believe it goes to common opnts, but I am not sure.

Pretty sure were the 4

I could see this season being a first round loss. They just don't have enough fire power on offense, and their defense has totally declined due to injuries and a lack of depth. They haven't looked like the dominant team of the previous years at all this season. Brady has pretty much carried this team as well as anyone could. This team has fought extremely hard this season though. One of the toughest and most remarkable Patriots teams I've watched of this era. They just don't have the talent lining up on the field this year to beat some of the tougher playoff teams. It could happen. I won't totally count them out, but I just don't see them beating the Broncos in the playoffs or the Chiefs either. I see them having a very hard time with the Bengals as well. The Bengals have had two first round losses the last two years. They have more experience now and might be set up for a nice run. If the Pats had won out and achieved the first round bye and home field advantage, then I'd give them a great shot, but this season they were going to need the home field advantage more than any other season.

There are several things you missed in the Pats favor in the race with Cincy:

1.) The Bengals are the Bengals
2.) Marvin Lewis
3.) Andy Dalton

All three of those things come up small all the time in big games. We saw that last night. That might negate their homefield advantage.

Ravens are now in the driver's seat for the AFC North with their win tonight.

If the Pats lose next week and the Dolphins win, they can possibly get eliminated with a loss to the Bills the next week. (If the Ravens + Dolphins win their week 17 games)

The ravens are the best team in the afc..

They are going to the Super Bowl

Do you guys realize how big the 2 seed is now? If not you get the ravens wildcard weekend

No they're not.

Bengals 9-5
Ravens 8-6

If Ravens go 1-1 over the next 2 weeks and Miami wins out, Ravens wouldn't even make the playoffs.

So i'd hardly call that in drivers seat for anything

I think he means, if ravens win the next 2 they win the north.
