Pagano: "Andrew Luck is the best QB in the NFL"

Do you think the Colts would be 8-8 with Tom Brady as their QB?
He couldn't help their defense but he would have them in the playoffs.
The Pats have gone to a Superbowl with a bad defense.

This is a good question, and I think I disagree. The coaching difference is significant enough to have kept that team out of the playoffs regardless of the QB.

Luck is definitely a smart and talented QB coming out of college. I feel for him that he is stuck with Colts with terrible coaching staff and a GM who doesn't put together a good team. His prime years are being wasted with Colts. Put him on a team like Miami/Houston/Cardinals and he'll make playoffs every year.

Harbaugh says Flacco is the best in NFL, Pagano says Luck is. In their conscience, they both know their QBs don't match well with the likes of Rodgers or Brady. But they still need to defend their QB.

Defend from what?

There is absolutely nothing gained by saying your QB is the best in the league.

May be "defend" was not the right word to use in the context. I mean no coach would put other QBs over their own. Even O' Brien with Brock Osweiller

Why do you feel bad for him? Feel bad for players who really cared about winning and had no choice prior to free agency in professional sports. Luck was not forced to play for the Colts and signed the extension on his own free will despite knowing he could have changed franchises when his contract was up. He chose to accept the league's biggest contract to play in his little bubble dome in Indianapolis where the players are coddled, the press are a bunch of cheerleaders, and you have the built-in excuse that the organization sucks and it isn't your fault. Brady could have left the Patriots and taken more money, as well, as played for a small market team where he could have more privacy, but he chose winning over all else.

Thats totally fine to say. BB said that about TB12.

But to say he is the best IMO accomplishes nothing. There is no upside to it.

This is why Pagano is a crappy coach.

Reminds me of the the line from Industrial Disease by Dire Straits...

"Two men say they're Jesus
One of them must be wrong"

Pig Guano...or bluntly...pig shyt. He's got a real big mouth for a complete moron devoid of ANY ethics or conscience.

My best friend is a Colts fan. So I see a lot of Colts games. I see Luck making the exact same mistakes now that he made as a rookie. Low football IQ for a QB. I don't think he will ever be anything more than one of those second tier QBs. Good, but not great. He's been around long enough that I think what you see is what you get. He is what he is.
