Are we currently the best team in the NFL?

If the Pats beat the Bills again, Ravens and get the #1 seed, that would mean the Pats are 5-1 vs teams .500 and above. If this happens, their chances of going to the Super Bowl sky rocket.

not saying that can't happen... but those are 2 big 'ifs'.

The Ravens are 4-5.

The Ravens are going to win the division.
I don't know Rain: their margin for error is really slim they play 3 out of 4 on the road to End the season. Also Joe Burrow might be back for that Bengals game and yeah: I know the Bengals have no Defense but still.

Their defense is
Come on Sam.
Philly ranks 18th in total D
14th against the pass
19th against the run.
10th in scoring D.

Several teams, including us, have much higher ranked Ds.

You’re stooping to new levels on your takes.

I'm not ruling anything out in that division. 8 wins might take it. Baltimore has the toughest road to 8. Well, no, Cincinnati does, but Baltimore's isn't much easier.

We're not the best, but we're tough & competitive enough to hang with the best.
I think Rams, Lions, Seahawks, Chiefs, Ravens, Colts are the ones going to be deep in the playoffs.
But I think we have a chance to win 1, maybe 2 playoff games depending how the cards fall.

Ok we're going to kiss their rings oh nevermind.

Look at who philly has played

It is a pretty good stat usually, but like any stat trying to be all inclusive metric it lacks the context and doesn't take certain important things into account.

For instance it doesn't care if a team is improving over the year or getting healthy. It just gives you an average. Also it doesn't take style into account. Teams that are built to run it up vs bad teams are rewarded while teams built to be more consistent week in week out in a measured approach may get penalized.

Things like that.
Any stat that tells us a defense near dead last in points allowed is not a good defense is garbage… period.

Points is the most important stat in football. Turnovers probably second most important, because they most correlate to points.

The Ravens? Lamar has never won more than a single playoff game and more often than not in the wildcard round.

Colts? Great playoff defenses are going to stop the run, so Daniel Jones is going to have to beat them with his arm… that’s no sure thing.

I don’t see the large disparity between any of the best teams and the Pats.

They have Josh Simmons.

I guess T Henderson and KW will have to do what they did on Sunday: a couple of more times to make believers.
