Many poster believe that Belichick should choose backup players who are special teamers so that we don't have to allocate roster spots for special teams who almost never play a position.
Belichick tends to disagree. How many of these players played much at their "positions". IMHO, the reality is that their "position" is being a special teamer.

some would FREENY since the last roster LB is almost always primarily a special teamer.
It seems that Belichick "usually" keeps 5-7 of these players. They are not strictly special-teams-only players. However being the emergency RB (Bolden) or the 7th or 8th DB (J Jones) isn't really all that important in the scheme of things.
