I think that MIN wants him, they will need to give him a lot more. If they don't franchise him, there should be several teams willing to offer him $20M a year, some with a possible future as opposed to MIN wanting a part-year or one-year bridge.

49ers may make another bold move by trading Purdy and sign Cousins or Darnold to pinch Pennie’s. They did that with Deforest Buckner by trading him and paying that cheaper Armstead because of his injury history. That was a mistake.
