I swear hundreds of people made the joke about how Donovan Smith would do well for the Chiefs because he would no longer be called for holding penalties on the Chiefs like he was on the Bucs. Turns out we were talking about the wrong new Chiefs tackle all along.
| Twisted Chief Do we probably win that game with Chris Jones? Yes. Do we probably win that game with the 27mm we offered Chris Jones instead used to improve our WRs, safeties, and DL? Definitely yes. He gained negative leverage tonight. |
Nah, he was probably rooting for a good outcome. The front office is different from his actual teammates, and it’s the former who his beef is with. He knows he’s going to get paid either way. The only question is whether it will be by KC or someone else.Chris Jones in attendance with both agents. Chiefs defense gave up 13 points without him, I wonder if he was hoping they would give up 35 points.
Even after dumping Tyreek Hill, the Chiefs are one of those top-heavy teams...but now losing some of their players as the top-heaviest gain more. Orlando Brown is gone, Tyreek is gone, and maybe Jones will be (or will be hugely top-heavy).Mahomes massive contract is really coming home to roost. I posted this in the other thread as well. But they have not been able to keep his receivers and it looks like they’re not going to keep Jones either. With Kelce out, you can see just how pedestrian this offense really is now. He’s going to have to deal with what Brady did after he won his first three Super Bowls and find ways to make receives better.
Kadarius Toney lol. Makes Aaron Dobson’s
Worst game look good.
Normally losses are chalked up in one way or another to a team loss but he broke the mold with that stat line.
Has anyone looked to see if the percentage of the cap is higher for the QBs now than it was for the Peyton Manning heyday?Funny thing is that people say the Mahomes and Allen contracts are starting to affect their teams, while those guys are now around the 10th highest paid QBs. If you don’t think they won’t be demanding raises very soon I don’t know what to tell you. And their teams will probably do it, in exchange for lowering their cap hits in the next couple years to squeeze the last little bit of blood from the stone.
