OT: Tag Madness begins, Phins franchise Landry

16 million for a slot WR...?

When we franchised Wes it was roughly half of that amount. Not to mention Wes was better than Landry is.

We should be celebrating this sort of nonsense from division opponents.

i am also convinced felger and mazz’s relatives are front office executives with all these teams, who apparently have no idea a cap has existed since 1993.

literally 80% of the league is in cap hell or rebuilding from cap hells, which means our team has a very good chance at being back in the super bowl next year.

as great as bb is, it is incredible to watch how dumb teams are.

and, make no mistake, these decisions are made due to greed and gate money in finicky markets.

classic miami style
move, fearful of landry fans choosing the beach over going to the game.

Tag and Trade to San Fran makes sense for Miami.
If they get a Second or 3rd and 4th.
If he plays the year on the Tag it's a real head scratcher.

Yes, the LOLphins are still taking their stupid pills even after signing the Suh contract.

I'd like to think that the pain of seeing what we did with Wes Welker on our squad made them glad to give Landry $15MM/year to not end up in New England.

Some people might but no one here does

They would have gotten a comp pick and saved 16M by letting him go. Good luck finding someone who is willing to take a slot receiver for 16M no matter how much space that teams has AND pay more than the third.

Also what exactly is Landrys incentive to agree to an extension now? Just play it out no matter what, cash in almost double what you might get and then hit FA next year.

The Dolphins are morons.

The Dolphin adage of "we have a great foundation", "wait until next year" is never more obvious with this move.. perhaps they do not understand the idea behind the franchise tag....

OTOH called a friend who is an avid Dolpin fan complete with a life sized Marino cardboard figure and just laughed and laughed at his pitiful team... I told him "wait until the year after next year"...

The Dolphins GM will need something strong this morning to relieve his hangover. How many body shots do you think he took last night?

Did they... did they do that by mistake?

A slot receiver who doesn't catch the ball farther than 5 yards downfield and spends most of his time running backwards after the catch. Sure, whatever. $16m a year for a running back.

The thing is, Stephen Ross would have to sign off on this kind of thing, so I am not convinced it's Tanneboob's sole doing.

But, this is what Miami has done forever. All flash, no substance.

When people ask how the Pats are so consistently great, this is literally one of the reasons:

Arrogant, DUMB, entitled and delusional owners...

Yet, they'll meet soon at the Owners/GM meetings and talk behind Kraft's back, change rules and implement things that are designed to try to harass the best organization in sports.

It's just comical to me the book, Pats Management Secrets" was written over a decade ago, and somehow some way, these the teams have a better way to build teams than BB.

This is one reason why our team is cheated.
