OT: Staley Fired in LA

I think the multi year deal is the key component. From my seat, Kraft holds all the cards, Bill's under contract. If Bill wants to coach, Kraft needs to let him out of the contract. Why would Kraft do that, other than to get out of the money? Bill's expiration date may or may not have already come and gone, you know, Best if used before _____. If Bill wants to coach in the next two years someplace else, someone has to go thru Kraft. If not, does Bill wait until he's 75? I don't see that.
Or like Bill stays here and continues building the team? Crazy scenario I know.

Did the leak for Bill leaving pats at end of season come from bill itself via curran to try to shoot himself out the door with 0 compensation to pats.

Finally...it should have happened before...

Two names I keep seeing for the Chargers is Belichick, and Ben Johnson.
I think it's Bill if I were to place a bet. He's already on record saying he doesn't want to go anywhere he needs to completely redo the front office. He has the QB.. (don't think he can ruin Herbert) great weather the owner is cheap just like him. Perfect situation.

Spanos is cheap as hell. Bill will most likely tell him not to offer anything and he will. Bill also can just tell any team entertaining a trade that he's not coaching for team that won't play for him.
Absolutely correct, spanos is cheap.. he never saw a penny on the ground he didn't pick up, Bill probably still has first NFL dollar.. perfect situation cheap ass owner, cheap ass Coach..

Now HoF qb Herbert can truly show that he isn’t a .484 after 62 games type of player. He can now stop being a never win a playoff game qb and move up with the Montanas and Elways !

They aren't as promising as people are making them out to be. Keenan Allen will be 32. Might be gone. Other than Herbert, there are holes at mostly every position.

Belichick would be a huge improvement over Staley. But the Chiefs and Broncos will make additions too.
Chargers are clearly vastly overrated. Coaches simply don’t move the needle by 8 wins. That team really is assembled like a rotisserie team with all their money invested in flashy names and money positions, and crap everywhere else.

A loaded team, anything less than a SB for the next coach for the LAC would be a failure.
Is it?
You have a qb with a career losing record.
A defense ranked 29th in points and 27th in yards.
A versatile but pretty average RB who has never rushed for 1000 yards.
A high level WR who is on the other side of 30 and a now injury WR who has been inconsistent.
Where is the OL, defense, ST? An exciting QB who has never won and a couple of revivers is far from a loaded team.

I sense sarcasm

but but but that's the aggressive playcalling we waaaaaant
Half of this board was holding him up as the shining example of the new smarter way that all those idiots coaching the game the last 100 years couldn’t figure out, cuz young, analytics, something, something

Only question I have is whether Spanos will give Kraft a call?

And would Belichick be willing to go to L.A. to take on this Charger team WITHOUT a first round pick?

Things could get ugly if BB doesn't want to give up a draft pick and tries to get himself fired instead....
So just do the smart thing and keep the GOAT and let him restart the next dynasty.

Find a single poster.
You can look if you want but half of this board was praising all of the going for it on 4th form gambling like they used to praise “attacking defense of Rex Ryan” before that flamed out too.

I didn't watch the game last night but when I saw the score this morning you had to figure it would be today

Hard to see a BB trade fetching anything worthwhile. Don't think he'd agree with his new team sending a high pick to his old team.

It's the one that is the most ready for success, giving up 63 not withstanding. Decent receivers, QB with some talent that thus far has been squandered, decent RB.

My questions are... will they embrace Bill's ways? Is Herbert as good as the media makes him out to be, or his he another knucklehead QB with a golden arm? Jeff George 2.0?
Everytime they zoom on his face during a game he looks scared. May just be his facial expression but he does not inspire confidence at all which is crucial for a QB.

2 years later than it should have been. The guy was clearly arrogant and incompetent.
