He deserves everything thats coming to him though.156mph with a loaded gun and twice the legal limit in his blood. Do any of you want to take back your statements on how badly you feel for him?

Its especially sad because just last week he and DeVonta Smith encapsulated the phrase "We made it" in their celebration:
And now its all gone.
Oh boy, he's done...
If he gets the minimum it's an abomination. This is closer to murder than it is an accident.Give him 20. I don’t want to hear another word about mitigating circumstances. This wasn’t even a freeway.
This guy should be in jail for life156mph......hammered.....with guns in the car...at 3:39am
Curious to know what Saban said during the pre-draft about his character and off-the-field decision-making ability.
Doesn’t matter. They have his blood alcohol level, it’s high profile and someone is dead. The minimum is two years. A prosecutor is going to be able to sayI have no idea how these usually play out. But hard to imagine an NFL player with expensive lawyers gets anywhere near maximum sentence...
OK fair enough. I just feel like whenever these athletes get in trouble they end up with significantly less severe punishment than expected.Doesn’t matter. They have his blood alcohol level, it’s high profile and someone is dead. The minimum is two years. A prosecutor is going to be able to say
“This man drove while intoxicated, felt the need to put everyone on the road in danger, showed more disregard for safety when he decided to break even more traffic laws driving probably 100mph faster than he should have, and as a result a young 23 year old with her life ahead of her got trapped in a car suffering from injuries as it was engulfed in flames and she burned to death in one of the most horrific ways possible”. All while you probably have relatives crying while hearing that.
IMHO, it depends on what hard evidence exists. I read reports that he was intoxicated, and I have little doubt that was the case, but I am wondering what the hard evidence is. I think I read somewhere he took a breathalyzer but I have no idea if it is true or, if it is, what the results were. And I hadn't realized the Raiders released him. It kind of changes the dynamics the prosecutor faces, IMO. He's no longer a member of the local team, he's just a dude from Alabama that smashed his expensive sports car into the back of a lady's Toyota at 4 AM while driving drunk.
So much in this case depends on how the prosecutor sees this case. As you say it's easy to see it be 20 years. OTOH there could be other precedents that make it hard to ask for the full 20. Don't think he has a record, he's a young guy, in theory you can make a case he'll be able to turn his life around if given another chance.
NFL should ban him permanently.
