OT: Other NFL preseason games

Right, some were saying fautana their other first rd ot was also struggling before he got hurt. The 22 draft was especially eye opening. This is why part of me just wants to roll with onwenu at rt even though hes much better at rg. Trying to fill 2 tackle spots in 2025 if nobody else steps up this year seems impossible in one offseason. Whereas guard is much easier to fill and we may already have answers at both guard positions on the roster.
The steelers are taking the opposite approach to the patriots by trying to build their line before drafting a QB. They invested their top pick in back to back years on OT's. So far, it doesn't look like that is working out too well.

People saying that Mac will take the job from TLaw.

He's an enigma, can't process well, afraid to throw over the middle, can't seem to see in the pocket very well, scared to get hit, throws many off-balance bad throws and then lays multiple off-balance dimes you know only him and Mahomes can make. His whole game seems to be off script playmaking. Can you make a whole career out of off script playmaking? If you do it almost 100% of the time? Guess we are going to find out.

Exciting to watch, must watch TV this year, he will win the highlights but still not convinced he's more than a middle of the road QB.

He's going to gas the offensive and defensive lines.
That's pretty much Mahomes coming out of college but he had Reid-Hill-Kelce and learned under a year with Alex Smith. If Williams keeps it together upstairs and the Bears help him out he's gonna be amazing

I don't know, not convinced on him at all.

Mahomes was never scared to death to get hit. Mahomes has a better arm. Mahomes was better than him in college. Mahomes was the best prospect I studied, until Maye. Williams is a middle of the road NFL starter rating in my review. We shall see.

We need to stop with Mahomes comparison, his playmaking is Mahomes light, the rest of the game is lacking way more than Mahomes was coming out of college.

I can't finalize until I see all-22 but initial review of the game:
4 plays of toss and catch easy
1 Elite throw
1 Deep ball PI play was thrown wrong shoulder but good throw, not elite but good for the distance
11 Plays where he made a bad decision or play, made the wrong read, missed open guys, on some he used his playmaking, so it did not matter in the end, was bad QB play but good result due to playmaking, many others he was just bad.

That's not impressive. That's nothing like Mahomes was.

I guess we will see if he can fix all these issues and become what many think. Just too many issues for me to think he can just fix them but will be great fun watching him try to get better.

Doesn’t seem that great…

Who ran the Seahawks offense all those years? He appears to have been one of the best OCs in the history of football.

And now he's the passing game coordinator in Miami?

No wonder Tua is having so much success.

If people are freaking out about our offense, fields and wilson have played a combined 5 quarters of action thus far and their units have scored a total of 3 points over the 5 quarters

Oh no Jack Jones

Nice day for Lance too.

Not doubting your analysis when it comes to college because I have no idea about college ball, just basing it off articles I've read apparently Williams is/was the best prospect since Luck
As for Mahomes he was considered raw but with alot of potential.
I'm not comparing current Mahomes to Williams just the one coming out of college

Right,
Trevor Lawrence was the best prospect since Luck, Williams was the best prospect since Lawrence is the general consensus.

In my own Analysis, which some of it is obviously done in hindsight but the way I do it think leads to minimal confirmation bias, I had Mahomes and Maye as the top 2, by quite a bit, followed by Herbert. I had to check history to see if what I thought worked, worked and for the most part it does but I would have been wrong on Josh Allen, for example. Overall, success rate is high, obviously not perfect. the human factor can come into play, I can only have odds of success based on analysis.

Williams misses many of the things that lead to great QB's, Mahomes in college did not. We will see if he overcomes the odds. I still think the odds say he'll be a Trevor Lawrence level of solid but midlevel franchise QB, with equal odds of bust and All Pro.

Great chance this QB class produces a bunch of week 1 starters, Maye included.

Nix looked pretty good.

Nix looked pretty good.
Have not seen all-22 yet but watched the game and watched all the plays.
No doubt He played well but this is why it is pre-season. He finally threw 2 good passes downfield. Everything else has been 5 yards or less in both games. However, every throw was to an open guy, not 1 throw was an anticipation throw. Like when Maye threw the ball when Baker was making his cut and not looking back at ball. The receiver on every throw was looking back at him waiting for him to throw on every play.

One starting CB for the Packers was 4th on the depth chart. Not 4th CB, he is the 4th Right Cornerback on the depth chart. Basically the 7th CB on the depth chart. The coverage guy on one of the deeper passed was the "backup nickel back" they don't even have him listed as a cb or safety on the depth chart and nobody behind him on the depth chart. Not one single DL starter played.
Nix did what he should have done, unfortunately you can't learn a single thing about Nix and his ability to be an NFL QB from that start though. He can hit open guys with plenty of time. I would expect that from just about any NFL QB.

Hopefully he starts, then can see where he is really at.
I'd wager heavily on the Seahawks to cover if that happens.

Modern preseason games are nothing more than extended training camp. A lot of the plays are things that would be worked on in camp.
