OT: Official 2021 Tompa Bay Gronkaneers Thread

Incredibly weird how the Bucs seemingly didn’t lift a finger to really try and keep Whitehead. Reports of “there was interest” doesn’t mean much considering what actually happened.

He got an over market value, why try?

The Bucs lost against the Rams due to their weak secondary, I don't see the loss in Whitehead, they need an upgrade so Winfield can play close to the LOS and not be left alone on an island against Kupp

They need to offer a 2nd for our inside CB Jones or get Gilmore.

Wow, Von Miller was reported to be resigning for the Rams but just chose to join the Bills.

That was just a horrible defensive call.

While Howard going to the Bills doesn't mean that Gronk is definitely going to the Bucs and not the Bills, I think Howard going to the Bills means that Gronk is almost definitely going to the Bucs and not the Bills.

I mean you shouldn’t leave yourCB1 on Kupp alone so why put a safety on that position

The amount of money on the offense is sort of like a Manning team. They will need to avg 30-32 to help the defense.

Still have Fournette and Gronk to sign, on offense.

Lenny will be at 5 a year if he's lucky or he'd be gone already. The last FA running back got like 3.5 so give him a 3 year 14mil or less deal and roll with it. Gronk deserves 10mil a year. It's crazy that they can fit all that in but then again the Saints cut down 80 mil in salary without cutting a player so nothing makes sense. By the way, Brady had to be let go because of the 'cap' 2 years ago.

You have to think that the top draft picks will be on defense.

The huge salary cap bump expected in the very near future is probably why Licht feels he can do this.

Also doing this deal today tells me they are going to remain active in the FA market. They could of restructured Brady (most likely still will) to get the Mason contract into the cap next week and didn't have to address Godwin until July. Now they have the flexibility to sign anyone they want with a creative contract.
