I'll still follow the Bucs in the NFC. Hope they do well. I've always had a soft spot for them anyway since that Super Bowl where they intercepted Gannon 9000 times and buried the Raiders into irrelevancy for 2 decades and counting. That was appreciated.

Unless they acquire Rodgers. Then that's a nope.

I will say that I am sad that Brady did not mention the Pats. Not because I feel he owes the fans anything but because it really does underscore just how badly things ended here. Even his retirement pic was when he beat us this year at Gillette. I was saying to a friend recently that it is really hard as a fan of the Pats to watch what they did to Brady only to draft a guy like Mac who is literally a QB in Brady's image. Like, you had the GOAT and then got rid of him for a guy that plays like him, and has his traits? It's like divorcing your wife and literally dating a girl who looks just like her but not nearly as gorgeous. I will never understand it. And apparently, neither will Brady. And to me that is so tragic for all of NE today.

Well I'm in Tamper for the winter and will return to my years previously habit of going to sports bars to see the Pats play. Maybe watch a Bucs game or two on local TV but that run is ovah.

I'll be following football much less overall. I don't think I'll get too excited for the Pat's either as they seem like a team fighting for .500 record and a playoff berth instead of being a SB contender, unless BB hits a homerun in FA and the draft.

It's definitely odd. No matter how it ended with the franchise, I don't think that he'd do that to the fans. I would have to think they'll be something down the road..

He lives in Colorado to boot. But you know, at least he was coming off major neck surgery with Luck sitting there in the draft. When you compare to Brady and his situation it is mind blowing that he didn't finish his career in NE. And now people want Brady to throw roses at the Pats org. I am sorry but screw that. I know he probably has something planned for later but I have zero issue with him leaving the Pats out of his official retirement speech. The Bucs believed in him.

If Brown is playing, the entire game changes, because Brown becomes the quick-open that was missing. If Wirfs if healthy, Brady probably suffers 25%-50% fewer pressures, allowing him more opportunities for plays. If Bowles doesn't get stupid, the game likely goes to overtime. If the receivers catch the ball, much of this is not an issue.


A lot went into it, IMO, but having Brown as the safety valve is the one that seems to have the most obvious upside.
